Been looking long and hard to buy my first since April. Been searching for 2002 Candy Red "dealer" Prowlers in Michigan. I'm discouraged that quantities a scarce, and most dealers with Candy Red's won't part with them, or (if they will) ask WAY too much. Also have told dealers I will only pay Chrysler employee purchase price. Since candy Red now seem unrealistic, am now looking at other colors. Since that time have found mostly Blue and Inca Gold cars. Most dealer cars have high miles and/or will only sell at list(or even more). Recently found a dealer with an Inca Gold with 210 miles for $41,000. Sounds high, but it is "new". What is a fair price for a "new" 2002? Low miles and clean car is now my first priority. Also want to "see" the car in person before buying (out of state cars are not an option). So, I might have set too many limits for finding the right car (needle in a hay stack?), but this is too big of an investment for me to make a mistake on. CJ/Bob....you've been very helpful so far. Welcome any and all advise from you other experts. |

If blue OR gold is pleasing to you, you will most likely find a blue one MUCH CHEAPER(mid $30's new) than almost any other color....they were quite a high production number(1200 or so)...yes they are 2001 models, but if you like the blue it would probably be your best bet dollar wise....personally, I would hold out and get the Kandy Red.....be patient, it will come....got mine for far under list in March....try Bill Pemberton @ Woodhouse Chrysler, Blaire, Ne.....1-800-889-1893....they deliver to your door and are VERY reputable...check them out with other Prowler owners, and also check them out on the Viper board....a no bullsh!t type place to do business with....I am sure they are out of Kandy, but may locate you one, THEY DO THAT TOO ...I have bought 4 Prowlers(yelo, blue, orange&Kandy) and 4 Vipers from them in the last 2-3 years....give Bill a call !!! Good luck, make the right choice the first time and GET EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT !!! ps...go to you search engine and just punch in "Prowlers for sale) there are hundreds the last time I checked, also 20-30 on EBAY at any given time....they ARE out there.... |

Motorhead, You might check on www.autotrader.com Saw a lot of Candy Reds for sale last week from dealers all over the country. You can search by zip code and it will tell you how far away from that dealer you are. Good Luck |

MH, Back in the old days (early 2000) the only choices were red, black or silver (I wanted new. I know, in the REALLY old days, you could get purple). I could live with any of the choices, but none were ideal. Black was too much maintenance - the dealer detailed the one on the showroom floor the day before, and you could see every speck of dust and MANY fingerprints. Red was too much - it seems every kid in high school had a bright red car, plus it's the "standard" color for a 2-seat convertible. And then there's silver - nothing bad, nothing good. My 98 Firebird is silver, looks good, doesn't show the dirt. A silver prowler didn't jump out for me, in fact, it blended into the road. I made a half-hearted offer on a silver. Then I saw a yellow when it just came out (which had already been snapped up). That was it, I had to have a yellow. No turning back. Alerted many dealers to call me if they got one (in the old days, even the dealers didn't know what they were getting until it came in). I got a call. Went over. A little negotiating and drove it home - exactly one week after it left the factory. GET THE KANDY RED. FROM YOUR POST, YOU'LL REGRET ANYTHING ELSE. I never looked back or regretted my choice, even though it was a little more $$$. -GRROWL P.S. - As a SECONDARY factor (let's not make a major debate of this) it was a limited run of the final color, using a unique paint system, and MAY be more collectible than most others. Gee, Grrowl, you only insulted a little over half of the members on this board with that post. A lot of people do like yellow the best. I am not one of those people. Glad you got what you wanted, though. By the way, yellow came out before Red or Silver. The first time, I mean. It has been produced several times. Gee, Ed, I can't tell if you're serious on this one. If you are, I suggest re-reading what I said and consider the following: 1. I NEVER ONCE said "Yellow is the BEST color". 2. I unconditionally recommended MH buy Kandy Red, which is obviously HIS FIRST CHOICE. 3. I went through MY PERSONAL thought process and did not suggest it for anyone else. 4. I made an offer on SILVER even though I own another silver sporty car. 5. It's commonly known that I drive GRROWL A LOT and in all weather conditions - black is not a good choice FOR ME. 6. FOR ME, I didn't want the proverbial "little red sports car", but I'm not discounting that for others. 7. I stated that I wanted a new prowler (2000) and yellow was not available in early 2000 (except as a 1999 with enough differences that, again, I wanted a 2000). Then again, with your "smiley face", I THINK you were joking, I just wanted to clarify to make sure. -GRROWL P.S. - Let us NEVER FORGET - |

MH, If you want a Candy Red, get a Candy Red! You'll kick youself if you don't, even if you have to take a plane to Chicago or Indiana/Ohio to get it. You'll love the ride back. |

Keep your head up!! I did the same thing.. I was searching for my car and i found it... it might of been dumb luck or just my turn. I found one about 100 miles away, 2001 with 1000 miles... and they were asking 38... The person selling said its been garage since they bought it... i could believe it.. So talked them down a little in price, went and looked at it, and test drove... I couldn't leave with out it |

if your still looking for a candy red Kat, I belive Royal Oaks Chrysler Jeep in Saint Peters Missouri still has one on their show room floor. last I saw, they were selling it for sticker ($46K). Erik Landrum is the sales consultant who sold me my Kat and he should give you a decent deal. here's the number and address Royal Oaks Chrysler Jeep Inc. hope they can help you out and don't settle for second best, hold out for a candy red if that's what you really want. just keep in mind, Chrysler only made 299 of them and your not likely to find one for less than sticker. |

Since we're talking quotes:
quote: The best quote that I heard, especially when someone is referring to "midlife crisis", is: IT'S NEVER TOO LATE TO HAVE A HAPPY CHILDHOOD!
quote: And the one I want to patent that I DIDN'T hear anywhere else: "Prowlers are like supermodels. The rating scale isn't 1 to 10, it's 9.9-10.0" -GRROWL |

Check out the AutoTrader as previously suggested - There is a dealer in Kissimee FL that has a new one on the floor. They wanted $500.00 over "INVOICE" two weeks ago and would not deal further. However 2 days after I purchased a silver one as they were calling to make a deal. I could find out the dealer name if you are interested. Let me know |

Motorhead...........sorry we are so late in replying. Just got back from a trip to NC to see our AF son. Why won't they sell it to you with the employee purchase? It also qualifies for a Friends certificate. Have you found all the Candy Reds in MI? If you want a list of where all of them are, send me an email.......... |
