Matthew, if it looks good, it is a decent price. You may be able to find one a little cheaper but if it is in California or Ariz it won't be saving you any money. It is not the steal of a lifetime, but it is defiinitely a fair price. JOMO. |

Matthew: Just do your homework. I would go to Carfax(www.carfax.com) for a title search and to Inspection Solutions(1-866-709-0021) for an inspection. I found a couple of what I thought at that time were good deals, but upon my due diligence found that one had a bad title and one had been wrecked. I'm not saying that there is a problem with the car you are considering, but when I was looking I found some cars that had really been treated rough and some unsavory sellers/dealers. If this car doesn't work out, keep trying. I've only had my Prowler for one month, but it has been a blast! |

I agree. Do your homework. Try to talk to the previous owner and find out why he wanted rid of it. Thats what I did. It talked me out of my first choice. Then sit in it. If your happy with the feel - buy it. |

Thanks everyone for your help. The KAT is at a dealer. I am confident that it is in good shape. Is 35K better. Thanks all! |

Sounds like a good deal. We have a 2000 black and love it. For the first time we now have a second Prowler in Rapid City that gets driven around regularly. A neighbor 2 blocks away just bought a 99 Red for 30K. It was the first Prowler sold in Rapid City 2 years ago and was the first Prowler Donna and I sat in before we bought ours. It was sold about the same time. After the original owners put 17K miles on it, it was reposessed in Washington state by a local finance company. Our friend Bob Maples got a good deal--the car is in good condition. Your option sounds like a good deal. If you love the car as it sits looking at you, go for it! You'll never be sorry. And besides, an investment in a Prowler beats the stock market. This message has been edited by catterumpus on 08-12-2002 at 09:30 PM |

Thanks all for your responses...What is your take on the Prowler from an investment point of view (i.e. will it hold it value and maybe increase.) Thanks |

Matthew46, Welcome - first of all!. The value can be measured by what young kids think of the car. They have an uncanny ability to see past the $$$, and focus on the appeal it has on them. They, like dogs, are hard to fool, they either like it or they don't. Most kids in my neighborhood, think it's - "killer", "bitchin'" or something like that. When I get an offer I can't refuse for the car, it will probably come from someone in this age group - a few years from now. Good luck in YOUR choice. quote: Be careful!!! That might be the one that someone in the NJ Chapter was going to purchase... If it is... it has flood damage... I will try to find out & let you know... Also if it isn't... Look at the body... Black is always a tough color to keep especially if it wasn't properly cared for by the previous owner... I do hope it is a great find & Good Luck!!! WildBill |
