Check out the highlights. http://www.villagephotos.com/pubbrowse.asp?selected=69665 Wow...MeanGene and I thought maybe 3 or 4 Prowlers at best! But when I was standing in Bert's lot looking at 5 Prowlers, and I heard my wife yell, "Four more are rolling in!", I started giggling like a mental patient. Unfortunately I found out the hard way that the Custom Rod club now meets at a place called Twin Kiss in LaPlata, MD. I was quite embarrassed to find out Bert sold his place to people who don't really care about cars... I mean, why buy a 50's nostalgia Diner?!? Many many thanks to Niteman, MeanGene, Bob, Brian, Grrowl & son, Larry Summers, Myron, and Snapcase for showing up. Also thanks to all the cool people who rode shotgun as well! (I'm talking 9 Prowlers and 16 people here)....My wife and I had a blast meeting you all, and can't wait for further events. I regret not having enough time to meet you all! I can't tell you how much fun we had... This is more proof that Prowler owners rock, and that this site is THE place to be. "It's not a Prowler, it's a way of life." |

What if we could get that many Kats to show up at Capital Raceway, Crofton, Md for friday night drag racing, we could take over the place. Since mine is the only Kat that's run there(at least that's what the owner told me), it would be a blast to see that many Kats running. How about it? any interest? |

I hear ya MeanGene! I was expecting to see maybe you and one more....but 9 Prowlers meeting on a whim! Awesome! If I get off this dang board and start drawing some logos, we can start the East Coast Posse! But first the "secret" project must be completed.... The final tally of attendees... 1 Mulholland Blue Even the same colored Prowlers were so different with the accents, it was amazing what people did! I was surprised how many windscreens were there. It was so cool as people kept honking and screaming out their windows as they drove by the lot....I can't get used to the reactions this car gets yet, but who's complaining? |

Hi Larry, it was great meeting you and Mrs. Summers Friday! Thanks for coming down! I seen your car under the hood, sir. You would embarrass us all! It would be like racing a V-6 Mustang with 2 plug wires pulled against a Saleen running on nitrous. |

Black tie 161, some corrections are in order. My Supercharger is a Paxton Novi 1000 upgraded not Eaton. The lady with me was not Mrs. Summers. There is no Mrs. Summers, at least not married to me. Her name is Ioka Walsh-outstanding person. As far as the dragstrip, we would\ not necessarily be running against each other. On Test and Tune night, you may run against a family sedan that won't break 18 seconds, and the next run, a 4 cyl Honda that sounds like an Offy Engine at the old Brickyard, with twin turbos and cranks a low 11's high 10's ET. It would just be fun to have all those Kats getting the attention of everyone. I would like to share, because when I go there, I get a large dose of attention, enough to do me awhile |

It was great meeting and talking with you guys. What a great group. Problem is now my wife is tired of me saying "honey, I only need a couple thousand more and I will quit buggin you". Plus trying to keep up with Bob in that Red 02 is going to be near impossible. Definately need an Air patrol. Finished the frame brace this afternoon. Instead of polishing I sandblasted and cleared. Looks great. Thanks for the ideas Gene. Keep me posted on the East coast thing. Sounds very interesting. |

BT161, Thanks for getting that together and the great photos! So glad we got to meet you Joe and Sandy and all of the other owners. Growwl, Glad I finally got to meet you also. I will miss seeing your Prowler at Greentech. I could always drive by there when I needed a Prowler fix. Darcy, thanks for the plug about our Purple Prowler! LOL As we were getting ready to leave we watched seven of the Kats pull out and it always amazes me how cool they look heading out and down the road. I always think, does ours look that cool? Myron, Larry, Thanks again everyone! ------------------ |

Cool! More replies...I'll go down the line.. Larry: Thanks for the update. I think meeting at Crofton would be a good thing someday. Maybe it can take place when there is a breather in events. It was very nice meeting you and Ioka. We have 3 Prowlers meeting at Twin Kiss in LaPlata this Friday....sort of an alternate mini-event. Maybe you might want to attend if you aren't going to Lancaster? Brian99: Bob and I are kicking around meeting at Twin Kiss Friday. Maybe I can show up early and smooth talk the Rod club into setting us some spots aside. Bob said the Rod Club is a little fickle sometimes, so I can try and work something out with them. >>BTW: Your bug screen mod is great! (YOU made them if I'm not mistaken, right?) VirginiaCatDude: I thought Bert's was a cool place to meet, and it was....but the Hot Rod Club no longer meets there...(as I found out the hard way!) They now meet at a smaller drive-in called Twin Kiss in LaPlata MD. I don't even know exactly where it is, but I'll find out by Friday. The problem with Twin Kiss is that I hear the parking is very tight and space is limited. Bert's has good food, a large parking lot....but we would basically be the only rod's there. Whether that's a good thing or bad thing, I dont know. I do know we had a lot of fun talking over the corner of Bert's parking lot. I'll email you and keep you in the loop for local events. MeanGene and I are working on starting an East Coast Posse....... Howler cat: I'd love to see your cat in person. the mods look astounding.. Niteman: It was great meeting you and Lucy. I wish I had set aside more time to meet you guys and talk...we needed about 5 more hours.... Sandy was getting along great with Lucy and Jyoti, so there seems to be a new clique going on there. Sandy raved about how cool everyone was, and she is really looking forward to hanging out next time. maybe next time I won't be such a kid in the candy shop, and focus more... CJ: Yes we did! AlleyCat: Thanks....It has been quite a week. Between GETTING the Prowler, having our first meet be so successful, meeting so many great people, AND winning a T-shirt?!?! WHEW.......system overload. |

Black Tie 161, I grew up about 5 miles from Twin Kiss. It is located on Route 301 about 2 miles south of where route 6 crosses 301. As you go through La Plata from North to South you will pass the juction of Route 6 with what is left of a CVS and Safeway after the tornado ripped through. You will then pass the County Police department on the right hand side. Twin Kiss is about another mile down on the right. Your correct about parking it is limited. Something like 50 spots??? It is also tight. I've been traveling and just got back other wise if I saw you posting I would have told you about Berts and the new owners. NOT very nice people. I also found out the hard way last summer when I came home to visit my folks and went down for a cruise. Hope this helps. If you need more detailed directions just let me know, but it's not that hard to find once you get in to LaPlata just ask anybody if you miss it. Voodoo |
