This week's poll is not reay a "fair" one to determine the most popular color. The reason I say this is because there are three types of reds. And, if you count gold as a type of yellow, then the colors total as follows, making the "yellows" neck and neck with the "reds".

Purple: 10%
yellows (yellow and gold): 23%
Black: 9%
Reds (red, woodward, candy): 23%
Silvers (silver, black tie): 13%
blues (Mullholland, high V): 13%
Orange: 10%

It's like voting for 2 Republicans and 1 Democrat. The 2 Republicans dilute the Republican vote, so that the Democrate ends up winning... Same sort of thing happens with a poll on colors - if you have colors that are similar.

As with any poll, the votes can be interpreted in different ways. Each color is different in some way. I see no more validity in your interpretation than doing it the way it is. If you want to take it one step further, there are only three primary colors in the spectrum anyway. Everything else is a combination of red, yellow and blue. So why consider any other colors but those three? It's just a poll......

Come, now. Candy Apple can't be compared to red (why not throw in the Woodward, while we're at it?).
And might as well combine half of the Black Tie with silver, and half with black.
You CERTAINLY can't compare gold to yellow.
Orange is in a class by itself.

The best outcome to all of this may well be to work out a Group Purchase for quality yellow paint jobs so that all of the "other" colors have the opportunity to become THE BEST COLOR - YELLOW!

this is too funny.... got 2 yellow replies...

c'mon red's, where are you???

My statement was just an observation. If we REALY want to determine the most popular color, then a fair way would be to compare each of the colors one-on-one and then add up the results.

Go for it. With all of the possible combinations of one-on-one, you may just win the most popular post of the week contest.

I always thought we determined which color is most popular by which sold the most. - BLACK - Using sales data gives us a larger sample than the limited # of poeple voting in a poll.

It would be intersting to ask NON OWNERS which color they like best!

Happy Prowling - I hope everyone has the color they like best!

Hmmm... Let's see... there are 66 possible pairs!! That would be 66 votes per person...

Obviously it has to go by what color was produced the most in a model year. DC in their infinate wisdom must have know what would be the most popular color and produced accordingly.

Pr,
If DC had infinite wisdom:
Why did they discontinue the Prowler?
Why are there still so many new blues at the dealers?
Why did they make the wheel center caps out of plastic so that they self-destruct?
Also, it seems that the assumption is being made that everyone had their favorite color available and never "settled". A review of this board shows that definitely isn't the case.

VCD,
I'll start:
yellow is better than black;
yellow is better than red;
yellow is better than . . . .

-GRROWL

P.S. - will we have all of the colors at Dulles on 9/21? I've never seen gold.

Will the rules require that to make a comparison, the poster must actually have SEEN the colors?

In the color spectrum, black is the presence of all color, therefore it contains yellow. So black is just a step child of yellow.

Dave - it's been too long since art classes. I was thinking black was the reflection of all color leaving no color and white was the reflection of no color leaving all color.

Now I am really confused.

However using your assumption would actually mean yellow (and all other colors) are step children of BLACK !!

Marty... What you SEE is the refelection... So a yellow car in actuality is everything but yellow. According to the vote, then, the most unpopular color is yellow...

I've made a suggestion for next weeks poll to ask your LEAST favorite color. Who knows, yellow could win that too (okay, maybe gold). Anyway, yellow could be one of those "love em" or "hate em" colors.

I had already contacted Mike about having a poll that would prohibit you from voting for the color that you own. This poll could be skewed by a couple of things.
1. Is their a disproportionate number of registered members who own yellow, OR to put it another way, do more yellow owners register as members percentage wise, than owners of other colors?
2. There were only 150 or so Woodwards and Black Ties produced so naturally the owners cannot stack the deck in the poll.
I have nothing against the Electric Blue, but I am amazed 17 people have voted for it. How many people have even seen it?
Another thing, why are the yellow owners so vocal and adamant about their color being the best. Is it low self esteem, or a hollow drum makes all the noise. What is the answer.
I voted for red, in case you are wondering. lol.
My grandson might win a shirt for this thread now.

At Texas Motor Speedway this past spring, the people voted for the "BEST" Original Prowler...most all colors present except for Candy Red, Gold and Blue...the votes were counted and the winner was announced.

ORANGE. I have the plaque to prove it

It is also my personal favorite but it is really like having a favorite child, you love them all...
