Hi everybody, We just bought a 2001 Black Tie edition Saturday . #161 out of 163. (I hope to change my board name to "Black Tie 161"......approval pending). We love the car silly, and are amazed at the ease of drivability. This car is as much fun as you can have with your clothes on! We got a great deal too! Snagged it with 200 mi. at only $42,000. The owner of the dealership wanted to move it out. We were going to get the Candy Red, but The Black Tie was right there and looked so sharp, and we thought it would be less of a cop magnet than the red. I have no intention of putting a hideous license tag on front either! We love this Prowler community site and all the info and goodwill that goes with it. My wife and I hope to meet with some fellow Prowler owners at one of your cool gatherings. A few questions to get familiar with you all..... 1) Any other Black Tie owners? (Represent!) 2) Any Prowler owners in Southern Maryland area? If so.....Does anyone go to Bert's Drive-in? At first we hesitated to buy this car, but it is the coolest thing we bought since we bought our High definition widescreen TV! I'll check back tomorrow AM to see replies.... Take care all, and we hope to meet some of you someday. -Joe |

Welcome aboard! I'm new too. Took delivery of a yellow 2002 on Fri. 7/12. Going on my first road trip tomorrow to Myrtle Beach. Great tips and advice on this site. The experience owners have already walked through the minefield of good and bad experiences and are extremely helpful. Enjoy! |

Randy, Thanks for the greeting. Todd.... Cool! Two fellow Black Tie owners! What number is yours? I drive it daily to work and I have to wear a tie, so it seemed to make sense. It is so damn classy looking! Our first experiences of blowing people's minds as we drive by is still so new! It is so funny to drive through neighborhoods and see people running out to their porch to watch it go by. There is no other production car that seems to do this.... Corvette? Psssht..... |

Welcome aboard, BT 161. If you think the car is fun by yourself, wait until you meet up with a bunch of these people. You must have a fabulous TV if it compares to the Prowler. lol. Post often and look thru the old posts and don't be afraid to ask questions. Watch out for MeanGene, he is from Maryland and they let him out on the weekends for good behavior. (He has them fooled). Look into driving up to Lancaster, PA next week-end. Aug. 8-10. You do not have to stay the entire time. Just show up to say hi or spend the day, or the weekend. |

Black Tie 161, Congrats and Welcome! We live in Edgewater, Md. I graduated from LaPlata high school back around the time that Ed Monahan had hair. LOL Actually I'm not that old. Anyway we have a 1999 Purple. We store it in Hershey, Pa. but bring it down to southern Md. from time to time. We have taken it to Bert's 3 or 4 times. It didn't go unnoticed to say the least. Glad you found this site, the people are great. That has been the best thing about owning this car. We'll have to get together soon. There are now 2 other Prowlers in Edgewater. A yellow and another black tie. Plus we have the Reverend of Red just up the road, MeanGene. Once again, Welcome! ------------------ |

Hi and welcome to the awesome world of Prowler owners and POA, the fun is just beginning. Hope you guys can attend all or part of the Prowlancaster event (look in the Events section for complete details). The events are definitely and added bonus to being a Prowler owner....you have to experience it to believe it! We're driving from Louisville, KY to PA to attend cause we enjoy seeing old and making new friends. FYI, even if your spouse isn't really "into" the whole car scene, they will be once they attend an event. I can testify to that since I'm a spouse (co-owner) of our KAT. Hope to see you there! Thanks for the warm welcome gang! Niteman: I found 2 other Prowler owners in Waldorf through the search here. I contacted them and one replied so far and said he would be up for Bert's sometime. Maybe we can get 3 or even 4 Prowlers there some Friday night. |
