ive noticed that now you can buy some prowlers for about 30k and they only have about 10k miles on them! is this just a rare occurence, or are prices going to be raising in the months and years to come? i find that 30k is not expensive at all for a prowler.. i saw a lot for around this price just browsing autotrader.com the other day what do you guys think? ------------------ |

$30K sounds right and is about the lowest price you will find... unless there is something wrong with the vehicle. There are differeing opinions on what the price will do. Personally, I think the price will start going up in few years from now - after all the new ones are sold. In general, most Prowler owners really love these cars and once bought, they are not for sale (usually). This love of the vehicle will drive the price up eventually. ------------------ |

Weclome Prowlerfreek, I agree, prices will go up. This is not a Vette, GM builds around 35K a year. The DC made just under 12K over the last 4-5 years ever... The Prowler is even way way cooler looking, its got style... |

it's not about how cool it is, or how many were made... it's about how well a vehicle is know to the general populace. That's the problem and that's why Prowler was discontinued, No advertising, which means no general interest in the population at large and that means prices drop FAST. The Hemi had around the same amount made, BUT it had advertising, thus more people wanted them, and today people PAY for them. Prowler's had very little advertising for a new car of today. |

I would seriously consider another at these prices...... Wow. Prices will go up - it may be a while but, they will go up. History repeats itself. They couldn't give away SuperBirds - Gas crunch etc. Now look. We would all love to have one. Why are there so few RAM AIR IV TA's ? No one wanted them and they were lot's of $$$$ ? Why only 626 or so 69 Trans Ams ? People didn't want them. Look at the prices now. They are 6-10 times what they sold for. If you can find one of the original Convertibles they are 100K +. I know one thing for sure - they will do better than my stocks have lately .... John |

I see that the prices are up then down. All I know is when I drive my Kat I feel great. The value is not that important . If it were at say 75,000.00 I would, maybe not want to drive as much. For now I drive as much as I can. Top Down and loving it... Jim |

The dealership that brought out a Mulholland to the Cruizen Columbus event today just took in a 1997 on trade this morning. (6700 mi) They got it for 27,500. Willing to get rid of it for $30,000! Prices are low. This message has been edited by DublinOH on 07-05-2002 at 10:33 PM |

quote: Todd.......I hate to differ with you, but the reason Prowler was discontinued was it was NEVER supposed to be more than a 5 year production run. They actually planned on pulling it a couple years ago, but Bob presented a business case to keep it a couple more years. They ended up pulling it early anyway because the Germans just "didn't get it" and they really had no interest in it. |

ah, but CJ .... as much as I like Bob, had he NOT presented that business case and let the Prowler lapse ... there would be even FEWER of them around and maybe even fewer still on dealer's showroom floors! Who knows what will happen .. we need to get it on a TV show or some high visibility area to drive demand ... then pricing will go up since supply is almost (?) gone from dealer's channels. |

Well, Ray, we've all had this discussion before, haven't we? lol! Some people wanted it to end, some wanted it to go on. The business case had more to do with keeping the Conner plant running and people working. I'm sure that the people who were able to get a Prowler in the last couple of years sure were glad it was continued!! |

Thanks Bob/CJ, if the DC would have cut the Prowler off in the year 2000. I couldnt afford it then, some of my Prowler friends here on the west coast paid way over 60K.::woodward: |

I have a 2002 Yellow Chrysler Prowler with 250 miles. I have to sell it and am willing to accept somewhere around dealer invoice since my new Viper order has been confirmed and should be arriving this fall. I don't have garage space for both. Any takers? |
