When we returned home I discovered that my Dell computer had burned up. I called them and they replaced the Mother Board and the Power supply. That did not fix it. Today they came with a new RAM. Unfortunately it was not the correct RAM for my computer so they are coming back tomorrow. Hopefully I will then be back on line. I am babysitting my granddaughters and using my son's dial up computer. Slower than all get out. I want to take this first posting opportunity to thank everyone for the GREAT time we had in Colorado. (Mike Gatlin & Sue Mayes, it was terrible, you did not miss a thing, lol) Marc and Alex hosted a heck of a great event but I also want to thank Mike Krehel, for without him we would not all be getting together or getting to know each other. This site makes all of that possible. Sandy and Judy K. talked and discovered they both went to high school in Cleveland, OH and graduated the same year. Sandy said high school was the best 7 years of her life. Did I ever mention she never reads this stuff. I also discovered Mike is a magician. Everytime I said, "here comes Sasquatch" POOF, Mike would disappear. When we got home we took the m/c to the Smoky Mtns. and gained a lot of very useful information for next year. Laddie I will forward all of it to you in the next few days. We found the route we want to take for the big Prowler event. It is truly awesome and not crowded at all. Sieverville, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg are all packed on the weekends in June, July and August. We found some alternate routes into town to avoid the crush. I think it will work out fine. Laddie will have the final say. Again, thanks to all we had a part in the planning and execution of the Colo. trip. Dan Pena, thanks for the name tags. Laddie, sorry I spilled the beans to Karen that you were in charge of next years event. Talk to everyone tomorrow. I can't handle this speed of computer at my advanced age. ------------------ This message has been edited by ed monahan on 06-20-2002 at 06:08 PM |

Ed-- So good to see you in Colorado, and it always great to see all the Prowler people. Anytime someone seems to be gone for awhile it is usually some kind of computer glitch. Nobody is immune. We have no idea about the route southeast you are scoping out, Donna and I have not been there in 40 years. We would love a cruise in the that direction, because we haven't seen the country, and we would love to see the folks we met last year in Deadwood and this year in CO. Fill us in on the details. And don't let them kid you, you have prenty of good friends who would give you their left one to keep you going. But keep in mind with some things you are on your own. ------------------ |

Ed, thanks for the reassurance that I didn't miss anything in Colorado. Many others, who I obviously can't trust tried to make me think otherwise. As you are touring Gatlinburg, tell em' I sent you...won't mean anything, but is a nice ice breaker. ------------------ |

I went directly to Tom Mills and asked where you were - he said you thought the gas prices would be too high out west Man, was I disappointed. I'll get over it, but don't do that to me again, lol. PS - I had a special pot hole picked out for you! ------------------ This message has been edited by ALLEY CAT on 06-20-2002 at 10:51 PM |

Thanks for the couple of good wishes and most of the rest. lol. I hope this thing works for awhile without any hiccups. I hate seeing that the Klez virus is still around. I got an email from prowling@aol asking what year and color my car is!! strange. I almost got my first deer on the way home. I stopped about a foot short of the darn thing after it pirouetted back into my lane. The ceramic pads work great. Gas was $1.90 for high test (91 octane is high test out there) way out in the mountains. The car did not run as well in the high altitude, for sure. I mean way up at the 9000 foot elevation. I could not keep up with a diesel Ford pick em up going up one mountain. Embarassing. Mike K. helped my fix my trunk gap at a rest stop. Thanks Mike. I saw a red winged black bird fly backwards on the way out. He took off from the berm and the wind was so strong we was actually going backwards for a second or two. We had a blast and thanks again to everyone who had anything to do with the event and for keeping this site so great. I also met a guy who had 103,000 on his Harley and was very friendly. That could only happen out west, seriously. He loved the Prowler. It may have been in Parachute, CO or Rifle, Co. This message has been edited by ed monahan on 06-27-2002 at 08:40 PM |
