I am thinking about selling my 97 Prowler to get a new Lotus Elise what do you think should I do it or not. Also do you know anyone that would want a 97 Prowler with 7,700 miles on it. ------------------ |

Your call! I love my Kat though dont think I could part with it for ANY car.... but I drive it regularly too! Drive it more, you might not want to get rid of it. ------------------ |

We all must make our own choices, but, I have never had so much fun driving my Kat and turning heads. PLUS I can attend all the get togethers with other Kat owners and they are the best people & best friends. Last but not least, the POA posting really keep many of us close and I don't know of any other group that stays in contact like the POA group. Again it is your Kat, your life and Your funds. Good luck on making the right choice for YOU!!! ------------------ |

I don’t think you’re going to like the price you would get. I don’t know how important that will be to you. My guess would be in the low 30’s. If everything I’ve read here is true, Chrysler gave big discounts for current inventory dramatically driving the price down over the past several months to a year. My guess is that the price’s will continue to drop until the dealership pipeline is empty (as in lots). But that’s probably 9 to 18 months away. I would assume prices would stabilize then, but by then the damage would be done. Other than that, it’s just a personal preference. ------------------ |

Either you get it or you don't. If you are even thinking about selling it you obviously do not think about the car the way most of the rest of us think about it. Your cat is 5 years old and only has 7700 miles on it so you do not drive it much. Please do not take this as criticism as I do not mean it that way. To some people it is just a car, to some it is just a nice car, to other people it is the ultimate car. I am in the last group. You have to decide for yourself what you want, no one else can make you happy. I wouldn't trade my cat for a Lotus straight up, unless I could sell the Lotus and buy another cat. JOMO Again, please do not take offense at my remarks. ------------------ |

You only live once, Steven. Keep the Prowler...Buy the Lotus. What's a little debt--it's the American Way! ------------------ |

Owning the car is only part of the experience. The other part is traveling with the people on this forum. If you took one trip with this group, you would not even think of selling the Kat. ------------------ |

Steven, Imagine your first car - you know the one! It was a beaut'. You washed and waxed that thing, sometimes twice a day. You were proud about that lead-sled. It was yours and very distinct -or- you made it that way. You sold it! Have you kicked yourself about "that" car? Step forward a bit - You own a Prowler .You sold it! ....any questions? Option Two: Marry into a car-fantic situation, smooth-talk them into buying you another Prowler, and enjoy - see KimKat's remarks. ------------------ |

The market on the prowler right now is not the best, I would think at best a 97 would be somewhere in the mid to upper 20's. But obviously if money is not an issue, its would be cool car that is very well reguarded in a club situation, or a car that is cool without all the help of a club. ------------------ |

My local dealer is asking $36,500 for a new Mulholland they have. A used 1997 is probably in the high $20k's. It's awful, but until all the new ones are sold our used resale value is quite low. If you do it, I'd wait 6 months or a year and I'd gander prices will be much better. -Ben ------------------ |

If you do sell it I would definately put it on hemmings.com with as much specific info of the car like number of the car and such I have been out of the prowler sales biz since aug and I hear that there are some HUGE rebates going on. I would have never thought that. What is the rebate now? (mistake I think but I don't own a large company either not even a small one) This message has been edited by Lance.d on 06-01-2002 at 02:11 AM |
