After having such a wonderful time in Louisville, I decided to join ProwlerOnline together with my other half, Mike, to be a part of the fun all year long. Having spent a bit of time reading old posts, I can see there's no lack of that here.

Not knowing what to expect at POA gatherings, I was concerned that I might be out of my element in a group of car enthusiasts, not possessing much knowledge of the Kat myself other than it's fun to own; but I couldn't have been more wrong in my perception! I haven't laughed so much or learned so much in a long time. Why, I think I could even follow along in a conversation about gears now (notice I said follow along, not participate; that will take much longer, if ever)

I didn't know in Louisville I would become a Prowler owner myself during the ride home. We stopped in Parkersburg, WV and Mike bought me the Woodward you may have seen discussed under "Classifieds". Apparently Mike had this all arranged prior to leaving for KY and managed to keep from telling me the whole time. Of course this makes Mike sound like a nice, generous guy, but I really did deserve it...really. Those of you in KY know we were trailering the orange Kat and Mr. "He of Little Faith" didn't think I could manage the rest of the drive home myself, so we arrived home late last night and unloaded the Kat and he left again at 5:00 this morning to go back to WV to pick it up.

Also in on the secret (as I understand it) were MeanGene and Darcy who didn't utter a word of it on the part of the trip home we shared with them--so Gene I know now that the 200 mile Q & A in which you asked me to reveal my entire life story and all my skeletons in the closet will remain a deep, dark secret (no wonder Darcy had a headache having had to listen to all that). We enjoyed their company and I managed to get some pictures of them, despite some bumpy road conditions, and will share them as soon as I figure out how, which'll come later.

I look forward to reading more from you all and will post when I have something brilliantly insightful or wonderfully witty to say--you won't hear from me much, obviously. Can't wait to see you all again and drive my own Kat at ProwLancaster.

Welcome Kim

This is the best darn Car Club in the USA. It has been a pleasure anytime I have met a Prowler owner. Good luck with the new woodward. Does Mike have a sister? LOL

Gary,

If Mike won't allow the Orange Kat to get wet, I can say with complete assurance he will want the Woodward to remain as dry. I only hope it's allowed to see the light of day! I don't share Mike's hydrophobia when it comes to these cars, but that's easy for me to say since I haven't had to clean or wax as yet. I just might change my point of view now that I have my own car to take care of...and after last weekend I know all the best products to use, too.

Now...if it is TRULY my Kat; I should have some say in this, don't you think? Of course, if you are the wise man I know you are you will remain totally neutral on this point.

Actually, I already have asserted myself with this new addition to the family. The side windows are tinted, which I thought was pretty cool, but Mike wanted it removed. I whined sufficiently to entice him to take a "wait and see" approach on that. The car also has a Viper alarm system, which he wasn't happy with (again because it's not stock) but it's there so deal with it, I say. I've not seen an alarm like this previously, though it may be very common. It has a perimeter alarm which will beep at you should you get too close. Touch it and all he*l breaks loose.

Can't wait to see it again on home turf. Of course, it goes without saying I'll be happy to see Mike again, too.

Gene,

I see from your "KY Ladies" post you DID know about this little surprise...and you didn't tell me?? And here I thought we were friends!

Your uncle in Parkersburg did good. Not only was the light left on, but there was fresh coffee, too.

Congrats Kim! Mike, that money you had because you didn't get the electric blue must have been burning a hole in your pocket. Kim, you deserve it! You and Mike are great folks, and I enjoyed the time we spent together. Now take it out and drive it in the rain!

Only if you promise to go out and get that chrome grill which looks awesome on your Kat. (And maybe not even then as I can't be trusted to keep my word on this--keeping household peace and all)

I was on the site looking for the company that does those grills last night Kim, but can't remember which one it is.

Larry and Darcy both told me...but I seem to have lost a few brain cells down there.

Kim...we are friends...I was under a lot of stress, and the THREAT- not the "veiled" kind either. Mike suggested we keep this among "ourselves" ---after he showed me and Darcy a picture of Guito - he kinda looked like Al Calpone on an acid trip - (or else, was the implied meaning). Darcy caught on immediately, I thought it was his sister - he (Darcy) explained it to me later.

Hotrod,

I think your brain cells are safely intact. Rather, I think you are suffering from a little known but highly contagious disease called "Modification Overwhelm". It strikes suddenly without any advance warning. At highest risk for contracting this disease are first time Prowler Eventers such as you and Mike and I. I think John was showing signs as well, but he recovered nicely and seems to have his shopping list complete and at hand. It has also been known to strike event veterans as well, though.

Sorry I can't help you out with the vendor's name you're seeking. The grill was about the only thing we liked better "as is" on the Orange Kat. I'm just starting to realize the impact of Gene's (Mzbhavin) statement "Stock, except for the mods."

After last weekend, the only thing you absolutely have to have is a grill?? If so, you're a lucky man. But then, what else does a black tie need?

Mean Gene, that was mean! I better get at least ONE of them!

If you had been as nice as Wildcat and let me put your way cool grille on my car as he did, I might be looking to buy one like yours instead.

Seriously guy, thanks for the number.

Kim,
Nice surprise from Mike.
He'll do anything to get the car count up for his ProwLancaster event.
Julie and I enjoyed having dinner with both of you at Hubers on Saturday. I'm surprised he was able to keep the secret about the car. Especially if Gene knew.
Thanks for joining us!

Kim ~ congratulations and welcome! Glad you have your own kat.....and woman, do what you want with it!!!!!!

Seriously, it's nice to have some fellow female cat owners. This group has always been very welcoming and generous - have always made me feel welcome and never stupid. And especially, always like family.

Thanks Kim. You are soooo sweet! To answer your question about mods...Mean Gene claims I made a statement Friday night that I wasn't going to make any more mods to the kat than I already have (exhaust, brakes, and splash guards).

I'm pretty sure that statement was beer induced, and I am therefore not obligated to follow through.

So what's in store for YOUR Woodward? Will you and Mike have to buy another trailer?
