I hear this, I have said it and know Ed post and say's it. It must be common. For those that have customized their car and posted pictures sometimes people do not care much for the way a car might look. We all must like what we have done but pictures do not show DETAIL, and most photo's do not do the car justice. I had more than one comment on my car about it looking better than they thought it would. I told Marty how good his car looked going down the road with his round lights, REALLY COOL AT NIGHT Photo's can hide defects in a less than perfect but it also looses the detail that make a car I do not have a problem with those that do not like my car. It is not for everyone, I knew this when I painted it. I like to see it for myself to decide what I think of a customized car. ------------------ |

Larry, I think your car is so cool, I have a matchbox of it on top of my computer with the card hanging on my cabinet. To each their own. Some may like it , some may not. Let's give compliments where we see they are due, and at the same time be kind enough to keep our dislikes to ourselves. Life is too short to not be nice! ------------------ |

Prowlerbabe, amen to that! The biggest thrill of this past weekend, aside from meeting all of the great folks was to see all of the variations of kats that were present! And while I can't say they were all for me, I can and do appreciate the work each of us goes through to personalize his or her kat. Each person decides where they want to take it - from stock to custom and everywhere in between. I really liked Larry's paint job (and told him so), not to mention his chrome grille. Larry, I for one like the car the only thing wrong is that I don't live close enough to use your painter. Individuality is what it is all about!! ------------------ |

I was not hinting for compliments, but thanks The point I was trying to make is SOME THINGS JUST HAVE TO BE SEEN. Not so much my car but all the cars that are not stock. Just thought it was funny that Ed posted comment that I heard from someone else this past weekend. I seen some other things this weekend I want to do to mine...it starts with more CHROME ------------------ |

Larry - the main thing I hate about your paint job and all your chrome is you keep winning trophies and I will never be able to beat you. I told Rebecca on the way to home last night it looks like I will need to chrome the whole front end and figure out what I want to do with our grill and fins on my new fabricated pieces. Like others, I have one of your diecasts sitting in my office and it gets compliments all the time. What was posted about individuals liking what they do to their own cars is so true. I know some people love the KAT stock; some like bumpers, some don't; some think my round headlights are horrible, others like you give me compliments about them. It's OK if you don't like my mods. It doesn't hurt my feelings. I like what I have done - well at least most of it. The important thing to me is for everyone to make their own decisions and have fun with their KATS. I know I am having a blast. Happy Prowling ------------------ Driving my Dream |

Nobody has exactly the same dreams, but the guys at DC managed to crank out a bunch of cars that come really close to what what most of us have coveted for many years. The neat thing is how easy it is to change a stock Kat into exactly what you yourself always wanted--it takes some bucks and some work but not that much. Thanks to the aftermarket folks who supply the parts and to the specialists who do the mods and the paint we can each have our personal dream car. ------------------ |

Larry, Your car is too cool - I love it.... and I know you weren't fishing for compliments. When my son Michael saw it in the pictures today he said - "Hey dad, that's the one I saw on the web sight !!!! Can we do that to ours ?" Do to these cars what you want - you drive it...... at the show I actually had a guy walk by and say "I like them all except for this burnt orange color". I put him in the same category as those that would walk by my Firebird and say " I never did like those Camaros." John |

Mine is stock. That is my choice (and budget). To customize is nice and an individual choice. Our cars are still fairly new, but give it a few years and Prowlers will become a new base for street/hot rods as the cars age and get cheaper (face it - well worn cars will not net a premium). Then you will really see some neat customization. ------------------ |

I have seen WildKats car at many local shows....the response is amazing....all Prowlers get attention, but not like his....as to taste, well of course not EVERYONE likes it, but thats what makes the world go round....I personally would rather stand out in a crowd than just be another sheep in the daily trials ant tribulations of life....GO WILDKAT ------------------ |

Crimeny WC.. anyone who gets their car made into a die cast has to have done something right! I love your kat dude I agree that some people do not like what we have done to change our kats but that is their taste. I think it would be a general consensus that people don't customize their cars for other people - they do it for themselves! Ed - you still amaze me with your perceptions ------------------ |

Larry is one of the first people I “met” on the board. He’s invited me to cruse with him close to home and yet we went to Louisville to meet for the first time. But I haven’t asked him the story of the die cast yet. I saw one in Louisville, but near some else’s car. Can someone clue me in on why there are die casts of his car and how that came about. ------------------ This message has been edited by whealy on 05-21-2002 at 09:35 AM |

Your car is just that YOUR car. What other people think doesn't matter. Do what you like and forget others. If everybody out there worried about what others thought about there rides there wouldn't be a Pinto Car Club of America. All kidding aside, I like you ride from what I have seen in the pics. Is it for me, not really, but I use to own a bright green camaro and by bright green I mean it would hurt your eyes to look at it in the sun. Was that for everybody, no, but to me it rocked and that was all that counted in my world. Good luck with you wild ride. Voodoo |

Whealy, the guy who paints the cars for JOHNNY LIGHTNING was at a car show and so was Larry. He took pictures and made a model of Larry's Wildcat. This was about a year ago or maybe 18 months ago. Larry can straighten up all the facts I goofed up on. They were sold in all of the toy stores and Wal-Mart etc. Pretty cool, huh! ------------------ |
