How many of you plan on keeping your kat stock and for what reason.I assume Mopar accessories add on's would still be considered stock.

I definitely plan to keep my Kat stock, except for mud flaps and ceramic brake pads. While I'm in awe of some of the great modifications POA members have done, the combination of an edict from my wife and financial realities has pretty much sealed the vehicle's fate. We plan to be stock, cocked and ready to rock! Kevin ------------------ |

Current plan is to leave the Red and Orange stock. The Silver Prowler will be receiving several additions... ------------------ |

Bob is a firm believer in "stock" and in some instances we differ (I want flames). He is mellowing, however, but whatever "modifications" I make, will be something that can easily be returned to stock. I have black 2000 bumpers on my 99 Black (instead of the grey, we agreed that black looked better). I also have the Mopar Borla exhausts on the 99 Black. However, bumpers and original exhausts are stored for future replacement. The only changes I've made on the 02 Candy Red is the Mopar Borla exhausts and the ceramic brake pads. All original parts are stored. Bob is adamant about his belief that a totally stock and original car is worth more money than a vehicle that has made permanent modifications. I don't plan on ever selling either one, but you never know what the future holds. After I'm gone, my sons may not want the cars and would most likely get more for them as original vehicles. |

My car is almost stock. You can still tell it's a Prowler. At 30,000 miles a year my car will never be worth as much as a low mileage stock car, so I figured I would would have fun and do what I like to it and DRIVE DRIVE DRIVE Happy Prowling Marty ------------------ Driving my Dream |

I'm waiting for Cliff to buckle up and do his front end with Chrome A arms, brakes, etc... neither of us liked it when I made my front pads smoke! I played the stock tune for awhile myself... This is like "I'm gona be a virgin when I marry"... few of us truly wait that long, even with the best intents. ------------------ |

Yes, AC, that about sums it up. I know I'm setting myself up...proclaiming to the world that I'm going to keep the Kat stock. Given the company I'm keeping online (that's all you folks), I'm sure I'll be eating my words sooner than later. Todd, I thought I read somewhere that you're STILL a virgin! When I bought mine I figured it was already perfect so I did not have to do a thing. And I haven't done anything. It is still totally stock except for the modifications. Straight pipes, painted bumpers, 300 M gearshift knob, chrome bezel, Chrome door edge on grille, etc. etc. etc. I am still stock compared to Marty, for sure, dude. ------------------ |

I plan on leaving our Kat stock with the exception of mud flaps, and going to add ceramic brake pads, and possibly the addition of pro-gears, but not sure, they can be easily changed back. ------------------ |

I think everyone is in for a few surprises in Louisville and then in Colo. You are going to see a lot of small changes that you never even thought of and then the fun begins. Then you go to a different event and see a few more things that you like and then other people see your car and soon there will not be a stock Prowler on the planet. ------------------ |

If you got your Kat for the usually reasons you might as well face reality. It will demand that you customize it. Ours has requested to be on Carlini's list for the total chrome front suspension. After that it probably be wanting more power and who knows what next. ------------------ |

I originally planned to keep mine stock for the resale value. But I plan to keep it for a long time and if a few mods make it that much more enjoyable to own, than that's more important to me than getting a few bucks out of it in 20 years. To each his / her own. So far I have Mopar exhaust, trailer hitch, car cover, and mud flaps, MAC intake, Kenwood indash DVD,TV. ------------------ |

Stock + flaps + pads + tranny cooler cover. Nothing else planned. It's zippy enough for me as it is, and I prefer to cruise anyway. ------------------ |
