While my hubby was at work today decided since I had the afternoon free to put on all four mud flaps. Todd - read your post on how to remove wheel caps and the screw driver pulled toward me worked beautifully! Also used another suggestion to use windex to reapply caps and that was also great! No breaks and the flaps install went smooth and easy. Thanks again! Tami F. ------------------ |

No Problem Tami, glad to have helped out! I hope you get the ceramic front brake pads (if you've not done so already) and some Pro Teck All for the shine. ------------------ |

Picked up the ProtectAll a couple of weeks ago (found it at Walmart in the RV section) and used it the next day. Super easy and the shine is great! The ceramic pads are coming. It's been a long time since I've done brake work - so should be interesting, but I'm sure I can handle it. Was a little scary last night - drove the kat to work (work for an international firm in the evenings in downtown Dallas) and when I went to leave the main gate of the parking garage was malfunctioning so security had to take me out the loading dock - as they were weaving me through the depths of hell I had to go over a multitude of large turtles and one of them caught the front left mud flap. Needless to say, I will be taking off the flaps this weekend and shortening them. I thought for sure I was going to mess up the fender, but thankfully it didn't. Anyway, thanks again - I will use the same method as before for removal. Take care, T ------------------ |

Turtles??? TURTLES?? now come on... how often are you going to be running over a bunch of Turtles? I still say leave the flaps full length, worth the rock chip protection Sassy... take a screwdriver.. a long thick one that has just enough room to put black tape around it in the slot. Put the black tape around it at least 3 times, you want some cushion here. Stick this in the slot as far as it will go. DO NOT twist, but pull out staight towards you and it will pop right off. The idea here is to pull this straight out at you, not pry it off at an angle.

Still thinking about it - have decided to drive it a little while before deciding for sure whether or not to shorten them. I certainly could tell a difference in what was thrown up on the car already. ------------------ |
