My original Email went this way.. You might want to rethink listing it as a 1998 plymouth prowler..they didn't produce a 1998 Model...And gave him the link to the stats page. I don't think that email should have recieved the response that I got. But who knows, I was just offering some information, If want to get technical his ebay post would be fraud. Now wouldn't it. ------------------ |

I think the same guy tried to sell a 83 Corvette also. (Actually they did produce an 1983 Vette but it was never available for sale, I saw that on display at the Corvette Museum) Don - at least you tried to help the guy not look stupid. Marty ------------------ Driving my Dream |

Hey i e-mailed the dude and corrected him, boy did he ever get defensive in his e-mail back to me. Called me a loser and told me to get a life and the reason he advertised it that way was to weed out the "Dead-Beats" I think he got cuaght with his Pants down on this one. Guess it takes all kinds |

I think that is a great idea! Everyone email him. I started! Here is mine: "Hey peckerneck (as you like to call other prowler owners) - there is no 1998 model of the Plymouth Prowler. They skipped that year! They went from 1997 to 1999. You should reconsider your auction because it could be taken as fraud." ------------------ |

Better Yet, we should all E-Mail tro E-Bay and tell them that this A-----e is commiting fraud by advertising this way while knowing what he is doing is wrong. |

I am going to wait until I get a response from this "person" before I email ebay. I want to include his response in my report to them. It took me about 30 minutes to find the contact page for this type of abuse at ebay - it us under: There is a "Contact" button on the bottom of the page. After you press it, you log in and then you get a page to email ebay. I would suggest providing the auction number in your report if you decide to do such! ------------------ This message has been edited by CWatsonJr on 04-15-2002 at 04:58 PM |

I sent this guy an email that read as follows: "My spouse is an executive at DaimlerChrysler and was on the original Prowler team. I worked for a motorsports marketing company that built and administered a program for Chrysler to promote the Plymouth Prowler. I also own two Prowlers and belong to a Prowler owners group. It appears that one of our members was attempting to help you correct your information on the Prowler you have advertised for sale. He was correct in telling you that there was never a 1998 Prowler. Production was delayed in building the 1997 Prowler and got quite a later start than originally planned. Therefore, Chrysler opted to skip the 1998 model year and started building 1999's. It certainly wasn't necessary to be rude to someone who was merely trying to help you out, whether you knew the correct information or not. I would say that misrepresentation could be construed as fraud and probably should be reported to Ebay. Were you prepared to return any monies spent when a buyer discovered he did not receive what was represented? There are over 1350 Prowler owners in our group, many who have or intend to purchase multiple Prowlers. The gentleman who only tried to help you, posted this on our board. I believe you can probably count out 1300+ people who WON'T bid on your vehicles. A little common courtesy goes a long way." I think 1300 people ought to bombard him with emails about this. Would serve him right! It will be interesting to see what kind of response I get. I doubt it will be nice! |

I got my response back and he definitely is not interested in having the correct information. I sent a complaint to ebay saying: "Auction 1820900294 The person selling this car is misrepresenting it as a '98. There is no '98 Prowler, they are '97 and '99-'02s only. He has been emailed by several prowler owners to his error and everyone has received nothing but negative remarks. Either this person doesn't care that he is misrepresenting his auction or he is trying to scam somebody." OH and BTW - here is his email response to me: "you should get a life and go buy yourself something you can afford like a 95 ford" Huh.. maybe he is right, I should sell mine and get a '95 Ford... NOT!!!! ------------------ |

Sorry but I just could not resist! Here's the email I sent our friend. I have been searching the world over for that rare 1998 Prowler! And although a bunch of peckernecks told me it didn't exist, I knew someone would eventually prove them wrong. I understand that the '98 model has the 426 hemi, a 5 speed manual shift and a power-assistd convertible top with a moon roof. I'll let you know his response. ------------------

Hey all, I e-mailed this guy at 10:30 this morning about the car. I asked him if it was a '97 or '99 model as there was no '98 model for the Prowler. At 10:40 he responded saying it is a 99 model, but is was built in '98. I guess alot of us have that rare '98 Prowler sitting in our garages. ------------------ |
