I would like to say thanks to each of you that responded with advice and comments concerning the purchase (or not) of the Black Tie. It helped me get some different perspectives. For those of you who are curious...

I went to look it over today and was bummed. I found a significant scratch on the passenger side door that will require the panel to be repainted, and all 4 wheels had the chrome bubbling up, so they'll have to be replaced. Not a good start. I told the dealer that it was a bad omen.

He gave me a couple of days to think about it.

Wheels, waranty...paint, a few hundred dollars and you will never notice the difference...agree though, first impression is a lasting one...shame the car was not as expected...found out many years ago, ALL cars are perfect over the phone.....look the car over very close and if those are the only problems, fix 'em and go on...you have a beautiful car anyway, so you can't lose with either decision !!!

There's an add that I have seen the last several weeks in AutoWeek "New 2000 Prowlers Black, Silver. New 2001 Prowlers Black Tie Starting @$38K." That's the way it reads

contacxt Gary at (631) 727-0700

Note that they also had Vipers listed in same ad.

Hope this helps
