Hey...I'm just curious, why do the prowler doors only open up 1/2 way of most conventional car doors? Is it the design of the hinge? Anyone know why the door opens so little? |

Good question Joe. Ida is working on a scissor hinge like the Countach for the Cat. ------------------ |

Spoons...no ugly, fat women in my KAT. I am glad D-C put a fail-safe hinge on the KAT to ensure the prowler stays cool looking with no fat chicks! I must admit, the Kat is intimidating the the weight-challenged folks. They either try to push the door beyond the door stops or just forget about entering the Kat. |

considering the Prowler is a total guy magnet, not a hot (female) babe magnet, I can just imagine prowlerbabe. ------------------ |

big or no so beautiful women dont even come to mind with or without little hinges. This is a question about Doors Opening 1/2 way. Have them custom build so you could fit a tank in it. LOL ------------------ |

I was told by a knowledgeable insider that the hinge limits were so limited as they came from another existing car parts bin. They did not have the budget to create a specific hinge and had to cut some corners. ------------------ |

I read in liturature somewhere that the limited opening is due to the sharply tapered frame. ------------------ |

When yea have a car with a figure like this, it's only common sense to require doors that open in a way to only allow access to equivalent figures to keep up with the image and all. ------------------ |

I probably shouldn't go down this path, but I can't believe the comments being made on this thread. Even if you think this is in jest, it's still in very poor taste. Spoons....since you started these comments, define "large". Let's see, I'm 5' tall and you are barely taller than me... does large then mean women taller than you? The rest of you......since when is it okay for men to be "large", balding, grey-haired or have any other characteristic that might not "fit the Prowler image", but you feel it necessary to make fun of women that aren't "perfect"? Such derogatory comments are just rude. Since this isn't an all-male site, I would hate for any woman visiting it to think that this is the general attitude here. I didn't find these comments the least bit funny.......they rank right up there with Hollywood's signature line. |

There is a weight limit of 500lbs on the car? Dang...Its a good thing there are only two seats. I come from a large family, myself included (I'm not fat, just big boned) I guess I won't be driving my Dad anywhere any time soon. Maybe I could get my girlfriend to drive him around, she's a toothpick (see post about weekly poll). ------------------ |

well.. I have to agree... someone who is not so cute as a male should not expect a beautiful woman as a mate, however, all one needs is a little money and fame, and ones looks are significantly improoved. ------------------ |

CJ, Do you know anyone at D-C that could provide us the answer on why the doors open so little? Also, Spoons brought up a concern: Prowler has a 500 lbs payload limit, is this true? Appreciate your reply, and help. |
