Thanks for the links. I will have to do a little surfing today. Laddie, Trading the 2500HD in for a 3500HD or another 2500HD with the new Duramax. The book say 12,000lbs on the hitch pull and 15,000lbs for a fifth wheel. Like the 3500 but the 2500 short bed is a little easier to park. Just not sure about a fifth wheel and the short bed? Steve, From what I understand the short box and fifth wheel trailers don't work well together. |

Hey Steve- Just to let you know that Corvettes of Dallas in Carrollton has a beautiful 3 car hauler out front for sale. It is black. I talked the them briefly and state that they have actually stacked new vettes and got 6 cars in it. I hope this helps. ------------------ |

Steve I have pulled trailers all over the country on the bumper and with a 5th wheel here are a few things to think about. You will need at least a 32 foot trailer for 2 Prowlers and at that length you may as well jump up to a 38 foot for resale in the future and at that length you want a 5th wheel. If you order a trailer tell them that you will be pulling it with a short box and they can make a 5th wheel with no over hang on the front so you do not have any trouble hitting the cab when you turn. Also to not go cheap on the axles and tires you can up grade from the standard axels with 15 inch car tires to 17.5's for about $500 an axel aslo tell them what truck and model so they match the bolt pattern to the truck ( some of the new ones are still 8 hole but they are metric )that way you only need the 1 spare tire from the truck. Sice the Prowler is so low you may want a Dove tail trailer also upgrade your side door to a R/V style. If you have any other questions give me a call at 952-873-6626. Good Luck Bob |

Paul, Thanks, I will give them a call. Bob, I will be picking up the 3500HD Duramax (crew cab, long bed,dualie,4x4...so big it should have it's own zip code!) this afternoon. This should handle any trailer I can find. Steve ------------------ |

Steve- Sorry, it's Corvette World in Carrollton. It is a beatiful Black trailer with lifts I believe unless he sold them out of the trailer by themselves. They did have a Ford F350 open bed with it, but haven't seen it for a couple of weeks. ------------------ This message has been edited by PaulR on 03-28-2002 at 04:07 PM |
