Glad to hear it. Maybe Ed M will start harrassing you also about all your modifications. I really think he is jealous that he spends all his time on prowleronline trying to keep his quantity of posts up instead of out in the garge working on his car!!

Have fun

Well, I (for one) am a fan of my STOCK 99 redkat. I've put red shimmers on the rear bumpers, swapped out the front brake pads for ceramic ones, put cutsie little red and chrome valve stem covers on the rims, modified the intake a bit, and THAT"S ABOUT IT! These cars are too great just the way they are (almost).

The only other things I'm doing are (probably) adding JJ Harris's new muffler (once I hear it), and a stabilization piece which bolts onto the front bumper mounts, just over the battery. I'm not using an aluminum bar, as many of you are. I have a shop building be a piece from tubular and plate steel which should be stronger and add more stability than the aluminum bar.

"Stock" is best

Marty, I have a combination lock on the garage door and I can't remember the combination, most of the time. Those are the days I spend on the computer harassing you and Sasquatch. lol

I hate to say it, but no, the spending will never stop, so you might as well get used to it. To better prepare yourself, I suggest dedicating one MasterCard or VISA with a credit line of at least $25,000. And as UPS packages start arriving, I also suggest using the following explanations to tell your wife. However, you must memorize them all and be able to recite one quickly and convincing, with no hesitation, or nervousness. I can attest that they all do work.

(1) It's a limited run, so it also will be a collectors item.
(2) Everyone online has this but me.
(3) We will be the first to own this.
(4) It will make a huge difference to the car show judges.
(5) I got it at a huge discount.
(6) This is the last thing I'm going to order.
(7) I'm just about done, there's nothing else I really want to do to it.
(8) I know, I know, I will seek professional help as soon as I'm done.
(9) What is this? I just INQUIRED about that! I never told them to actually SHIP it!
(10) This came with free shipping so it didn't actually cost as much as it seems.
(11) I just wanted to see how this looks, then I'll send it back.
(12) If you price it per item, it's actually pretty cheap.
(13) What? Is that still on the statement? I'm sure I sent that back...let me check it out. (and then hope she forgets)

And when you exhaust every excuse, use...

(14) I just can't help it, I'm afraid somethings really wrong with me....probably some kind of Impulsive Disorder. You know I really haven't been feeling well lately. But if you will loan me some money, or let me use your credit card, I will have my belongings moved out by the end of the month. (sit on couch, make hands tremble and place face in both hands)

Good luck.

Guess I don't have to worry about that since a certain someone won't "let" me do anything to my car.....

We changed the 99 bumpers to 2000 black bumpers. I have the Mopar Borla exhaust. And..............I guess that is as good as it's going to get!

well, when I get it back in April, I probably could by another prowler for what's in it? the nice thing is the bartering system, works for me? pretty much the driver is stock? or something like that, some guys like to keep it stock and then their's some that just like to be different, like Marty's, for some reason though every time I see his car, I feel it's staring at me, with those big eyes? hehehe!
Seriously though he's done a nice job with it so far! but that's the beauty of customizing to your taste. well gotta go

Wild Thing - Rebecca says its the "so far" part that concerns her. (notice I did not post how much $$$ spent so far) I think she has been paying Ed to harass me about my mods so I told her I would slow down for a while and finish the ones I got started to save a few bucks for POA travel and she can pocket the money she has been sending Ed.

Can't wait to see what your doing to yours!!

Wow Chuck, you may help save my marriage yet. Here I have been taking all the out of town business I can find just to avoid the inevitable questions.

The only one I can think of that I have used not on your list is "well darling, that item was less than the clothes you bought on sale last week" It is good to turn it around every once in a while!!

Happy Prowling

I have spent alot more than expected and have alot more to spend on the things I want......You need to have your wife agree with EVERYTHING you want to do to your cat. My wife wants everything for ours...I'm the one to say no because I have to figure out how I will pay for it.

Larry: I figure out how to pay for it, before I ask Brenda. But then I haven't done near as much as you have.

Ya know, I think I'm going about this all wrong. I've already purchased my ceramic brake pads and ordered my bra and cover.

But I haven't even bought the car, yet!

Subconsciously I think it's a way to convince my wife there's no going back - that we have to buy a new kat.(lol)

I LOVE Chuck's list...I will have to use all of those at one time or another.

Kevin, I will now ease off of Marty and start getting on your case, on a regular basis. That is too funny that you bought parts for the car you did not buy yet. I love it. You are hooked and will be worse that Marty once you get to drive it on a regular basis. If you think the car is fun, wait until you get together with a bunch of other Prowler nuts, That is the best part for sure, since you don't have to explain any of your crazy behavior. We all understand why you did it. We are all in the same boat, err, I guess I mean the same car.

Kevin - How far are you from Minneapolis? I have two more business trips there this year and at least two next year. If you hurry and buy a Prowler, I'll let you pick me up at the airport!

Oh - I just had an idea. Why don't you order the trailer first. You will need the extra room for my luggage. LOL

Marty:

That's it! The perfect excuse:

"Honey, we HAVE to buy it now, Marty needs a ride from the airport!"

Actually we're about 90 minutes south, but in all seriousness, I could pick you up and drop you off. It would be a chance for me to get some additional excuses to become an owner.

E-mail me the dates and times.

Kevin

Kevin - I was kidding you know!! Traveling on business, at least the company or client pays for transporation. I will email you on the two occasions I will be there for a week and three weeks in case you happen to be in the Twin Cities area during those times.

Marty

Don't worry about Ed picking on me. He is use to doing it by now. I really think he hates my car. He even politely told me not to show up in Cincinnati for the Baseball Opening Day Parade. But that's OK. I am going to email everyone else the REAL dates for the Churchill Downs Car Show. Don't tell him!!
