I paid a visit to my dealer today to pick up some things we ordered. We had a discussion about the floor mats and this is what he told me. Now, I don't know if this is totally accurate or not, but he also looked some things up on their computer system, just don't hold me to this!! 1. He said that the 2002 floor mats have NOT been cancelled. They list them as coming in Purple and Orange. 2. He checked their computer system and told me that he is showing 56 sets of Yellow floor mats in the Parts Depot. They are about $70.00 and it takes him about 5 days to get them. 3. He said that Prowler mats are not the only mats being discontinued, that they are cancelling mats for a number of different vehicles. 4. He said that Prowler PARTS are not a problem and that they will be around for a long time. 5. He indicated that it is likely that we will see the Prowler ACCESSORIES being phased out. They most likely will continue to sell what they have and just not re-order. 6. He said he could still get things like the between-seat organizer and the console cup-holder (while supplies last of course). Anyway......that's the info he gave me......again, I don't know how accurate it is. He was also going to check out our website and I encouraged him to register and post so he could let us know what was going on! |

Ouch, didn't know they were disct. the floor mats. I really like the floor mats I got with my '02. Guess I should order a backup pair just in case. How sad. I can still get parts for a '68 Corvette but they're discontinuing stuff on Prowlers =( Not fair. |

What is the console cup holder. Does it increase the capacity of the existing holder? ------------------ |

Rich, from the photo I've seen of the cup holder it goes over the console and adds a holder to each side. I have never actualy seen one and I thought it would be good to have, but the picture looked like it might be in the way. I will see if I can find picture of it and post tomorrow. ------------------ |

We tried 2 dealers in the area for a bra and were told by both that they were not available. Anyone have any luck? ------------------ |

WildCat, you did see one. I had one in my Cat at Deadwood. I have all three of the accessory storage components. I like them, they do help. ------------------ |

I DEAL WITH DC ALL THE TIME. JUST ABOUT ON ALL CARS,TRUCKS WHEN THEY STOP MAKING OR THEY CHANGE A BODY STYLE THEY QUIT MAKING THE ACCESSORIES FOR THAT MODEL. YEARS AGO THEY WOULD GET STUCK WITH THAT KIND OF STUFF. FOR THE MOST PART MOST PEOPLE DON'T EVEN KNOW THAT THE DEALER HAS ACCESSORIES. ------------------ |

CJ: Your info on the floor mats seems to be right on the money. On Tuesday I ordered a backup set of yellow mats through a local dealer here in Lansing. He ran the part number through his locator and said that there were just over 50 sets of yellow at the parts depot. He ordered a set for me. Should be in next week. Price, $69.00. Dick |

Fred I just picked up the cupholder 82203790, $24.75 and organizer 82203792, $24.75 for Andrew Howard. Took me a couple days to find a dealership that had an old accessories catalogue that showed these. There is also a bag kit 82203791, 64.00 that is a small square shaped bag I think they call a glove box bag. ------------------ |

Marc: You are correct on the glove box bag. It clips to the front of the passenger side seat and sits on the floor in front of the seat. We use it to carry CD's. ------------------ |

I ordered a set yesterday for my DCR. The "Prowler" lettering is in Orange. When the sales guy pulled it up on his computer he said there were only 3 sets left in the U.S. with the Orange. He told me it was possible my order would not be filled as the info he has is not "real time" and the 3 sets could already be sold. They really stuck me on the price - 88 after taxes. I just hope to get a set. Also - went to Kinko's last night and had my window sticker laminated - looks neat and will preserve it forever. ------------------ |

Marc, thanks a lot for the numbers... I just got the Holder and the Organizer ordered along with some floor mats in Red trim.. He says the mats are coming out of Florida... I'm thinking of ordering a couple of "extra" hub caps also... Just in case down the road.... ------------------ This message has been edited by prwlyn on 03-08-2002 at 11:59 AM |

Decided to take the advice and looked for a new set of floor mats. Just found the LAST pair of red mats in the country, sorry guys! You are correct. Apparently when all the floor mats are sold out they won't be making them anymore. JRL |

Now I`m mad. I went to my local dealer on Tuesday, 3/5/02, to order a set of the red floor mats but he said they weren`t available anymore. If you ordered them today then someone didn`t know what they were talking about. ------------------ |

RebelBob, I talked to my dealer today and he said you could still get a BRA about $200.00. If you need my dealer's name just let me know. The wind screen you have where did you get it? Bob |

The power of the internet, we need to be carefull. The only reason I say this is because with the internet and a single email we can turn a non issue into a big issue specially when it comes to parts. For example floor mats, how many of us really need new floor mats? However when we all hear that there is a possbility of no more floor mats we all rush out and buy a set. Then guess what? No more floor mats. So what happens if tomorrow I get on the internet and say there is only a limited number of starters or water pumps? All of a sudden a 1,000 owners run out and buy water pumps or starters then guess what? No more starters or water pumps... Just a thought.... |

Wild 1, I had been contemplating getting a new set of mats for a while as mine have been showing some wear and a fresh set dresses up the interior. I welcome the info that supplys are running low so I can get a set before they're all gone. Now what have you heard about starters and waterpumps? ------------------ |
