I just got off the phone with my insurance agent, I was ready to plunk down a ton of money for insurance on my Kat, when he says, "$625.00 for 6 months." I almost fell over from shock! I pick her up Saturday! Can't wait! |

I am not sure of your driving record or deductible, but your 6 months quote is not much less than what I pay a year on my 1999 with a $500 deductible with State Farm. If you are interested, you may want to check around as you may find lower rates. ------------------ MTD Prowler Intake System 2.2 |

I know what you mean, when I got my Kat I thought my insurance was going to be higher then my Camaro SS was. Congrats on your new ride and enjoy. Al |

Same story here. I only pay $39 every six months more than my Sebring convertible. I guess they see V6 and automatic and it keeps rates down!! Marty ------------------ Driving my Dream |

Hoping when they start finding more Kats needing repairs and the cost of the parts we will not see the rates go through the roof! ------------------ |

Memz, that is more than I pay for the whole year. No, it doesn't mean I get a price break cause my wife is my agent. ------------------ |

Memz- that is probably a good idea. Like Bill G. posted above, State Farm has good rates on the Prowlers. You might want to include them on your list. As far as a teenage son driving. Since my son got a scholarship to college and I used his tuition money to help buy the Prowler, I have let him drive it four times since Last May. 1. He drove it home when we picked it up (3 1/2 hours) so I could just look at it going down the highway! I have to admit, it did push my level of trust and how much I worry. Memz - I have State Farm also, and pay under $600 per year. You might also try: www.grundy.com I've heard nothing but good things about them concerning insuring our type of car. Give them a try. The reason I mention this is because if you are not presently with State Farm, you might not be able to get into State Farm Mutual rates for the first year. Sometimes a person has to be insured through their State Farm Standard rates for one year, before getting their best rates. ------------------ |

I pay $610.00 for what is called Lay-up Coverage with Erie Insurance Co. Which means I can`t drive it in December, January, & February. But since I live in Pennsylvania, we do get snow in those months so I don`t want to drive it then. Salt wouldn`t be real good for the aluminum frame. ------------------ |

Our insurance in the Atlanta area is running about $1000 annually for the standard everyday policy with higher limits and $250 deductible. A similar exhibition policy was quoted at $350 annual premium. The limitations may be too strict for many with only 4500 miles allowed and a locked garage required. Gordon |
