I'm not sure what discussion board I should post this in or if I should post it at all (I'm sure one of the administrators can move this post or remove it if need be). The only reason I am posting this is that I was interested in getting a set of Hennessey Headers for my Prowler but have decided against it. I know that many of you are willing to spend a lot of money for the best performance upgrades available and I just want you to think twice about dealing with Hennessey Motors. Apparently there have been many complaints about his business practices on the viper and corvette forums. Take a look at this link if you don't already know about this topic. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=234868 ------------------ |

I saw the headers on the Prowler Pro website, but no info is given about them (unlike the gears for example). Most likely because they aren't done yet. I know the Hennessey header have O2 bungs on them, But it didn't look like the Prowler Pro ones had them. ------------------ |

I also heard a guy took is Viper into HMS and got the car back with no HOOD. And still doesn't have his his hood yet, a 12000 dollar piece. Been months. And they didn't finish the upgrades. And paid 40 grand in advance. Careful this guy also owns a Prowler. How pissed would you be? ------------------ |

I really feel sorry for the viper guy. Why would someone give so much money??? Is the viper not fast enough for him? Gary, Nice chrome suspension. I saw a prowler that Norb was working on at TGF Monday. It looks awesome... ------------------ Metalcrafters Custom Paint (only Prowler with this color) |

prowler pro's headers look and sound like a very good product, and dean made a real good set of gears for us, along with easy instructions, i feel bad for that guy spending all that money, but he shouldn't have spend another $20,000 without getting some true bonified results on car! If it were me, i'd be down with a birthday present. That just goes to show yah, gotta be careful a name is only a name (hennesey), we do have too look out for each other, hopefully he get's all his money and car back. |

I think my kat is going to be garaged soon. My engine is revvvving up and down and the engine light is on. The dealer said they cant work on it, to take it back to paxton. So it looks like my journey is about to begin. ------------------ |

Rudy don't panic , I think this is a easy fix, could be a routine cleaning of the intake module dealy. Or could have a slight air leak. Call me. ------------------ |

Rudy, this is Dan here. Call me tomorrow, let me make a call to my dealer for you and ask him to check out your car. I have a great relationship with the Service manager at WestOaks in Thousand Oaks. Don't give up, lets see what they will do. He knows of the Paxton that I installed, he told me they would still service me and that we would deal with any issue as they came up and not be worry about it. They are a great bunch. Call me at the office or at home, hope you still got my number.. Dan G. |

I had called HMS about 2 years ago to get a price for a K&N filter for our Prowler. I don't remember what the regular price of one was but, HMS was charging 150% more. I asked if I was buying two and a cleaner kit or were they including installation? No, that was the price for one. I don't recall the exact price but, two years ago it seems like their headers for a prowler were about $15K ------------------ Mods: 2001 Speed Yellow Porsche Cabriolet |

They're headers now are around $5,500. And their K&N Filter is about $95. I don't know what Dean at Prowler Pro is going to charge for his headers. ------------------ |

quote: Yup, you are correct. I bought the filter for about $40 elsewhere. If you haven't been to the link on the original post. You owe it to yourself to do so. God! What a horrible story and what a horrific rip-off. I figure this guy is going to disappear, one way or the other, soon. I'm mad and I didn't loose a thing to this guy. Read the story!!!!!!!! Lessons learned.... ------------------ Mods: 2001 Speed Yellow Porsche Cabriolet |

al, dean is charging $1,950.00 for headers as far as I know, and I think he's giving a senior citizen discount so I called my Mexican friends up north (hehe) to make me a fake i.d. card! This way here I get a 10% discount and coupons for all the grapefruit pudding I can eat. |
