Just sort of curious. How many of you have scuffed or bottomed out the nose of your prowler? I feel like an idiot, knowing that theres not much clearance for the nose and that its a common occurrence, but I still scrapped it. I had the nose cowl repainted the first time but this time its not visible unless you look under the car and I don't think I'll bother having it repainted again for only a few scrapes. Anyway, I guess I just want to know that I'm not alone in my stupidity.

Don't feel so bad.....Been there Done That

When I 1st got the car I went to friends house that has high curb into his driveway and scraped it there.

I have since learned to avoid those situations.

When the graphics were added the scrape was repaired and 13,000 scratch free miles since.

None on the Prowler yet but I have been through three C5 Vettes that have had the nose messed up on curbs/drive ways.

In will happen in time...

Guilty. I couldn't stand the thought of it until it was fixed. In my case, the curb pushed the nose in and up, but because it's all plastic the only lasting damage was a piece of bent sheet metal, easily straightened. Repair was $330.

Spyder,

Mopar makes the touch up paint in a spray arousal can. Makes for easy touch without having to use the brush method. Check your local dealer for the correct part number. I know its not the perfect solution, but it beats looking at those ugly scuff marks.

Spyder, would have been easier to ask how many have NOT scuffed a curb block. Seems to be the almost universal initiation. You get so darned concerned with keeping the back end out of harms way, you sneak a little too far forward. New owners might just as well do it and get it out of the way!

for touch up paint. Once you mask off the rest of the front of the car, it only takes a minute to spray the scuff marks. Be sure to clean the area first. On my black car, you can not tell it was scraped byb looking, only if you feel under the nose.

First Prowler, first day, wife drove it over a parking block....second Prowler, first time she drove it she plowed up the turf at the bank she works at, the grass was in a wedge shape around the nose, AARRGGHHH!!!!....no other parking accidents, but a couple of weeks ago I took a hit from a flying 2X4 on the interstate, light scuffing of the clear coat....then a friend dropped a wrench off a house roof 3 stories high on the corner of the decklid, looks like it was hit by a golf ball....drive em, they will suffer, but darn it's worth it

I bought my Kat in September 2001 and it had only 230 miles on it. The person who I bought it from had already scuffed the nose on her. I`ve put over 1000 miles on her and, knock on wood, have not hit anything yet. My fingers are crossed.

Spyderman - We have 'WARNED' new owners of this problem for a long time. The rest of us have been there, done that, and now wear the t-shirt

True story: I had warned MADMAX of this condition before he picked up his new cat. Upon arrival to Phx the first night, we joined him for a dinner outing - Yuppo, he drove it right into the curb on our arrival at the restaurant. Big AH look on his face was worth a million $.

The warning on the sunvisor should state "STOP SHORT"

Been there, Done that - 3 times - Obviously I'm a slow learner.
They are all on the bottom so they don't show unless you are looking under the car.

How about 10 minutes after I signed on the dotted line? Pulled it up on a trailer to be towed home. Yes, it caught an angle iron on the front rail of the open trailer. My fault....I was directing the driver myself. Dumb, really dumb.
