I have only had my Prowler for a little over a month and I had a few questions for you guys that have lived with your cars a while. I have a chance to pick up a second one but I would have to use it at least 3 or 4 days a week to justify it to my wife... How good is the air conditioning? Can it keep you comfortable in the Texas heat? How are the cars holding up in general once the miles start rolling up? Thanks, |

Air Conditioning works good. Cant use it much in Traffic when I'm on Las Vegas Strip. If that's equal to Texas. As for miles I have 20200. And no problems still rolling strong. ------------------ |

14,500 Miles and better than average reliability I would say. I think the air conditioner is WEAK (the famous Prowler Hot Foot!). I've heard that blocking the hot air coming into the cab seems to improve AC performance. If you can justify to your wife getting a second Prowler, could you help me justify to my wife the practicality of a Paxton SuperCharger? ------------------ |

davidn - I am looking at a new 2001 Silver. This was the first choice in color until I saw my Orange Prowler.

I live in Hotlanta. My AC works great I never have had to leave it running on high or on the full cold setting. I have never had anthying even close to an overheat. I have been in gridlock traffic for up to an hour in 90 plus temperature and humidity. As you can see each Prowler and the experince of the owner is different just like with any other car. ------------------ |

I've had my 99 Black since July of 99. I'm not a guy! I drive mine as much as possible weather permitting. Never use my air, I just put the top down! Have just over 12,000 miles and have never had a problem! BTW......I'm the wife......99 Black was a 2 year late 30th anniversary present and I just received a 2002 Candy Red cat for our 35th anniversary this year. My husband doesn't drive either!!! |

Steve, I bought the car and then drove it every day to the office. In 15 months I put 18,000 on it. I use a oil additive that I swear by called PetroMoly. The company is here in Houston and it does away with any overheating that ever bothered me. Last year at the RiverCity drag strip the track temp was 152 degrees at the pavement and I made 13 runs. The gauge never went over the normal mark and still doesn't. Now one of those runs was with the A/C on,,, ooops This stuff has pulled my milage up to 22 mpg.. Seriously the car has taken everythign I have thrown at it including the nitrous and still runs great.. The A/C infact will freeze you out even on the hottest of days here.. Heck I run it with the top down and its fine... ------------------ |

Steve - Debbie Angell drives her cat as a daily driver in Phoenix, with its 115 degree days, and I've never heard her say a negative word about A/C or overheating. I also have no problems here, in traffic or on the road. Hope that helps..... ------------------ |
