I was all set to fly to Dallas to pick up my new 01' Chrysler Prowler for $37,988.... Deal was done. I have the buyers order in hand still.... But apparently between our agreement and me being only able to get there a week later, they sold the car out from under me to a higher bidder. I gave them my CC# to put a deposit on the car, but apperently they never ran it( I hope not now). When I called back to make sure everything was set a day later, they informed my that they had recieved a higher offer..... I said how is that possible if I have the buyers order in hand.... anyway they said too bad... if I want it pay more. I am so pissed! Now the other dealer here locally sold the other one I was interested in too.... I know there are others out there, but this just stinks!!!! Anyway, I am looking for a 01'or 02' silver or a 01' MH Blue. The deal I had was for 38k or so..... I have my loan approved and am ready to buy today!! Anyway thanks for listening!! ------------------ |

That really SUCKS!!! Like you said, there are other deals out there, but when you make an agreement, you expect the deal to hold up. Once you finally get a Prowler, the smiles will help you get over trying to do business with a greedy dealer. Sorry to hear about it. Marty ------------------ Driving my Dream |

Frank, There is a new Mullholland here in Orlando for $39,995 at Carmax Chrysler Plymouth Jeep. The car has been there a while. The phone number there is 407-855-0066. I also had a dealership in Texas, possibly Dallas, try to screw me when I was buying my Prowler about 2 years ago. We had worked out a deal and I was ready to purchase when the salesperson I had been dealing with mysteriously no longer worked there. They had no records of our deal and they wanted me to pay more. ------------------ • MTD Prowler Intake System 2.2 Future Mods: |

My suggestion start looking on the net. Check www.Autotrader.com You can search nation wide i found mine on there out in ohio from a dealer. They post both dealer and private. I managed to pick up a used 1999 with 9,000 miles for 32,500 back in oct. If you got cash in hand you can get a good deal. Check out the site for the color info your looking for call the dealers. Im sure you will find something nice. If you need any more info email me! This message has been edited by treyb on 01-23-2002 at 11:36 AM |

Norb at TGF is selling their prowler. Seems like a really good deal. I don't know if you are only looking for a stock new one but the one norb is sell has all the aftermarket extras that he makes on it. Also it's the first silver one made. You might want to check it out. It's in the Free Classif. section under Howler for Sale. Good luck and since you posted this I'm sure the word will get around about that dealer. Voodoo |

Frank - I feel your pain. The above owners are trying to help you out, so I'll just say I had once originally agreed over the phone to buy a black cat in stock. It was 9 am and I promised them a $2,000 deposit in their hand by 3 pm that day, and the balance in less than a week at delivery time. Done deal, they said. The dealer called me at noon that day and said sorry its gone. ------------------ |

After reading all these responses to Frank one gets the feeling that there are a lot of desperate dealers looking to unload their cars as soon as possible. A sad ending to a great car! |

The dealer I bought mine really stood up to the test. He was offered $10,000 more than I paid and he still sold the car to me for our original deal. There are some good guys out there as you can see from this thread. Good Luck, Gordon |
