Al's Prowler Prowler Junkie From:DeWitt, Mi |
posted 01-01-2002 03:42 PM
Hello everyone and Happy New Years, I bought a yellow 02 Prowler on Dec 8th and have been watching this site for a few weeks. This site looks as good as the F-Body forum (Camaro & Firebirds) I come from (www.slpeng/forum, username DARK AGE 53), so I thought it was time to join. Being that I live in Michigan I was only able to drive the Prowler home from the dealer (20 miles) before the bad weather set in. It sits in my shop waiting for spring all nice and shiny. I must say I may have only put on 20 miles on the Prowler but I have never had the feeling like I did when behind the wheel of this car. The only mods I have in mind are: splash guards (front & rear), trans cooler cover, Logo yellow Prowler air caps, ceramic brake pads for the front, and Carlini chrome headrest. I do have one question: does anyone make a clear side marker to replace the stock amber one? Thanks, Al

AL, Congradulations on your new cat. I don't know of a clear side marker light but there is someone making filler panels to remove them. You got the best color in my opinion ------------------ |

Thanks everyone for such a warm welcome, I know I'm going to enjoy my new Prowler as well as being a member here. When I first saw the Prowler in 97 at the Detroit Auto Show I really didn't think Chrysler would build such a cool car, but I was wrong. |

Hi Al: Congrats on your purchase. Great color!!! We are just around the corner from each other. Your plans on the splash guards and the front brake pads are right on. I've done both to mine. I also removed the sunvisors and the wipers. (gotta have the right "look" ya know?) I also removed the front bumpers and used the Tom Mills replacement kit. Great quality product and helps the "look." Maybe we'll see each other on the road. Dick |

Welcome - hope you get some good driving time in over the winter. Don't know of any clear side markers. I looked for months then used NiteShade paint to cover (light still shows through). Or you could spend some $$$ and get the new side panels without the markers. Hope you enjoy your Prowler and you have a chance to join us at one of the POA events. Again thanks everyone, Dick: I hope to see you around so you can give me a few first hands tips. Marty: it sure would be great if we could get clear side markers or a billet aluminum plate that says Prowler on it. Al |

Thanks, Brian. My favorite toy is a 1946 New Yorker. Not a lot of miles on her, straight body with a few bumps. The New Yorker is my wife My other favorite toy is all of the cars. Each one is like my baby. But the Prowler makes me feel younger and it gets the most attention which I do like. ------------------ This message has been edited by pumpkin on 01-02-2002 at 03:13 PM |
