Oh Boy! Another unsubstantiated rumor!! Calling CNN (CJ) what do you make of this? and...CJ,.. when are you going to share your secret Christmas surprise you promised (i.e.) "all Prowler owners will like"? Come on..you can tell us, we won't tell anyone else until you say it's OK XOXO |

I would be more willing to bet on this rumor over the one Ray posted about production until 2005. I figure when it ends, it's over. I guess personally I would like to see it continue through the 2003 model year because I like driving a car that is still in current production. Whatever happens, the best thing is I GOT MINE!!! Ray was just jerking some chains it was just in fun! They said they were making Midnight Black after candy red, also production is slowing to 7 cars a day, thats means only about 25 days of prod. from 1/14/01 when the come back from vacat. to the above date, that means if they make only Candy Red in that period only 175 approx. would be built. That seems not correct to me. But I dont know diddly, I just write the checks!! What press was this hot off of? ------------------ |

I sure would like to see this rumor true. That way our cats will not see a further decrease in value. |

These cars will be of no more or less value than what you paid for them and what you personally think they are worth. As CJ has posted on another thread ... there STILL remain a handful of unregistered and unsold Purple '97's and '99's. It will be QUITE a while before dealers sell through their inventory of other colors in similiar situations ... therefore, speculation buying and pricing will fall on deaf ears ... despite what other "sources" may say or relatives may whisper ... likewise, when continued .. the value will continue to fall ... Whos jerkin who here... it really doesn't matter to me, but I know Jon and he is a straight up dude and what I would say as "connected" in the bussiness. If he says February 15, 2002 is the end of the Prowler production you can believe it. Whether its the last day or the start of the last run, you can believe it is very close. My guess is the Candy Apple Red will be the last color and very few will be produced. Good luck getting one! ------------------ PROWLEN.... John (-: |

I for one don't care about the value. As a matter of fact, I "DON'T" want my Kat to be worth a ton of money. That will ONLY make it more of a target for theft. I personally plan on keeping my Kat for life and that is why the value doesn't matter to me. The ONLY reason I want them to stop building them is for the exclusivity. I don't want to see other Kat's UNLESS I am going to a gathering of Kats. A perfect example is the Cruizer. At first, it got PLENTY of attention, now, it's just another car. Yes, I realize that they will never build that many Kats, but the principal behind is the same. Thanks for reading my thoughts on the subject. Merry Christmas everyone! ------------------ |

GaryC - There goes Dan again - playing with the banners!! I just noticed it this morning. Your were quicker. At least I saw it faster than Marc did when his "hood grew" Now I will have to get my car back to Taylor's House of Color and have the sides painted again. Maybe I can have name on my car again in time for Colorado next year. Happy Prowling Marty ------------------ This message has been edited by Marty Usher on 12-14-2001 at 07:26 AM |

I'll agree with Just JP, not only because he owes me $10 for the AC Chrome Grill Treatment, but because my cat is staying with me until the end and then going to my grandson. I'd like DC to build many Candy Red and another round of black, incase I'm looking for another one in the near future. Everybody should have two of them! ------------------ |

Amen to Just JP's comments. I had my Kat two months in 2000, a fellow came to my office and made an offer of 72,000. I told him "No Thanks" I didn't buy mine to sell and make a profit. I bought it to keep, as it undoubtedly is the most fun car I've ever had, and I've had several. I also agree with him about the PT Cruiser. I went to a picnic last Summer, a new ZO6, Red, parked alongside me. He got zero attention, as not one person asked about the Vette. I was astounded by the attention I received. If one didn't know better, one would have thought I was a celebrity-rock star or something. It wasn't me, it was the car. On one occasion, I pulled up to a red light and stopped. A cop on the shoulder was writing a traffic ticket. He actually paused, pushed up his glasses and proclaimed "beautiful car, Sir". He then resumed his ticket writing-From my experience, there has never another car so admired and evoked so much curiosity. |

quote: THANKS for the 'testimonlal'...... I would never shout FIRE here if I did not have my facts straight. Trivia: Back in 1978, Corvette probably did the first, true "limited edition" with the "Silver Anniversay Edition-Indy Pace Car" There was ONE PER DEALER manufactured (6502) Ditto the 1992 Viper 2-3 times sticker (boneheads!) You can STILL find em on occasion in Hemmings, stored in an Omni-bag for 23 years. Never titled. Under 50 miles. And only bringing $25K. The few stints I have had in a PROWLER drew more curb-appeal looks than my VIPER ! Now THAT's a testimonial ! |
