Introductory Statement: We want to be clear that no matter what year or what color.. the Prowler is the coolest car to ever come off the showroom floor. With that said: What are your thoughts about the differences between the 97-99 model year suspenions differences? Will the the 97-99 be remembered as the Low Riding or Rough Riding Prowler? Will the 2000 through current model year be remembered as the refined or best riding Prowler ever..OR??.... Jack the Wonder Dog and Chromer his faithful companion |

Being lucky to have a 99 and 00 at one time the ride is night and day different from each other, the 99 is the roughest riding deal I have ever been in. When I put the Dunlops on 99 now it rides better than the 00. Not a opinion, fact. |

No argument with your first statement!!  I own a 1999 Black Prowler. I had the opportunity to drive a 2000 Silver Prowler for a weekend. There certainly was a difference in the ride between the two. However, I have never felt that the ride in my 99 was uncomfortable or annoying for me. I think of it as more of a "hot rod" ride than a car!! I guess maybe I should buy another Prowler with the newer suspension just so I can do a proper evaluation! LOL! |

CJ, I like your statement about the 99 being perhaps a rougher ride but I also agree that the whole concept of the car is that it is a takeoff of the old "Hot Rod". If you've never been in a real Hot Rod then you don't realize that they rode "stiff". That is the whole point here. Heck I have one owner down here that loves his car but swears that his 2000 rides like a steel I beam... Perhaps if someone is that concerned about the "smooth" ride you need to get a car that isn't patterned after a Hot Rod??? Myself, I feel that if you take away even that feature you take away from the concept. ------------------ |

Jack the wonder dog I've never had the opportunity to ride or drive anything newer than my 99 (RED) Yah it rides a little (ruff) NPI..? It's a Hot Rod, I drove mine to Deadwood this year it was a long drive sure there where a few times it was a little ugly but you know the way I look at it is ( It's worth the odd times you feel a bump more than you'd like to or in my case those @#$$%&^@% cattle guards, because as we've all experienced and I'm going out on a limb here by saying this NO OTHER CAR gets the attention our Kat's do by the over all public) I'm just glad that DC didn't put a straight axle in them to really give it the old hot rod bump steering that we had in the old hot rods. Chromer, I think the defining line will by Plymouth v. Chrysler somewhere down the line, and not the ride. By the time it makes a big difference most of us "oldies" will have switched to softer tires and a lot of us tosofter suspension. We are also almost an inch closer to the ground in the front. ------------------ |
I have the parts to upgrade the suspension, but it hasn't been top on my priority list to change it!
