On my way to work the local police sometimes set up a little trailer with a built-in radar to "remind" motorists of their speed. When I pass it in my pickup it usually gets the speed about right, but when I'm in the kat it fluctuates and never seems to settle. Does the Prowler's shape reduce its radar footprint?

Hello JD,
No,the Kat is not stealth. It is made of Advanced Alloys
which scatters normal Radar. The KAT always attract
more than any other.
WAY KOOOOOOL!!!

Being a grad from traffic school,,,, lol,,,
Those trailers are used to do test to see if the speed limit needs to be changed on that particular road. They are not actually reminding you, but they don't hesitate to flash in red if you are speeding do they? What they do is take a average of the speeds recorded to determine if the limit needs to be changed.

We were instructed not to slow down to the speed limit, but drive thru the trailer at our normal speed. That's how limits are raised.

(I still don't get the flashing red though if I'm over the limit, kind of like a subliminal message,, gee, where have I heard that before.)

Trust me, the cars are not Stealth, two speeding tickets on radar to prove it.. One was on lasar I believe.

Pulled the bumpers off my car right away made 1 1/2 trips and a month of running around town ( 4500 miles )saw the COPS and never got stopped put on the front plate for the Woodward Cruise and BANG 91 in a 55 yesterday, the 91 is what he locked on me at he asked me how fast is was going when I hit brakes, my reply was I was paying to much attention to the road to notice ( about 115 ), before anyone gets mad about speed I live in the sticks and I was between to towns with nothing but 30 miles of corn fields. Plate is now off car.

Bob - sounds like a great place to have a speed cruise, 30 miles of road with only corn fields near. Find out when the law takes their vacation, and plan it out!

Some of us love speed, and encourage street racing!

BTW - nice to meet you and your lady at Woodward. Nice bike also.

I thought if you were going 25 miles over the limit was jail for the night? or is it over 100mph total?

Like I said this is the sticks, the ticket was in Carver County and the fine is broke out in increments with the highest being 31 MPH and over the limit $197.00, the cop was at first a @&$, but when he came to give me the ticket we talked about the car and he made a point of telling me that he could have given me a carless driving ticket along with it, the last one of those I was honored with cost me $900.00 for ticket and $1500,00 for the Lawyer to keep me from spending any time at the states expense.
