When your in the Kat driving down the street and the person in front of you slows down to about 10mph till you pass. This happend to me all day today. I don't have a real big problem with it ,but if you were to look down for a second BAAAAAAM. ------------------ This message has been edited by cnote6 on 07-22-2001 at 06:03 PM |

They drive me CRAZY! All day today, they speed up to catch up and end up blocking me in. Don't get me wrong, I like the attention the car gets, but it is becoming more difficult in the big city to watch out in traffic for the odd ones. ------------------ |

They probably looked in their rear-view mirror and figured they were about to get eaten. ------------------ |

I experience all of the above but what bothers me the most is when then hang back in the blind spot with the top up, and then just stay there. Also driving dead long side of you on the freeway even when you start slowing down. I try to be understanding of this to a certain degree but some of it is not real safe. |

What you describe happens allot. Another dangerous thing is pepole that stare and not watch where they are going. A guy cpming from the opposite direction broad sided a car coming out a parking because he was watching me instead of in front of him. No one was hurt but the mini truck he was driving and the car he hit were a mess. I don't think he even hit the brakes. I also hate when they pull along side on the left and blow the horn when its right next to your ear. ------------------ |

The problem is that the human brain operates on habit. You're used to driving sensibly like anyone who knows cars, but it's easy to forget the impact a Prowler has on other people. When they see the essence of car, it often blows them away and their good sense may evaporate. We all have to pay attention and be a good example--it goes with true love of cars and driving a Prowler. Nobody's clean (I've stood in front of the judge on a charge of exhibition driving} but we must do our best to show others what cars and driving are really about. st do our best to protect the safety of ourselves and everyone else. ------------------ |

I understand and appreciate the curiousity and excitement of the people who are viewing my car when I drive. However, it is unnerving when people come flying up to me to see the car and then hang back in the blind spots. Many times I am attempting to move to another lane and because people are hanging with you to see it, you can't change lanes. The other thing that makes me nervous it when they are intently checking out the car, they tend to steer right towards me! I've had many people actually cross the lane lines not realizing what they are doing! I certainly don't mind them checking out the car and I don't mind them driving next to me trying to ask questions, but I wish they would be just a little more careful!! ------------------ Classic/Beautiful - I'm referring to the Cat! |

The upside of all of this type of behavior is that they always let you out of a side street, driveway or make a left turn in front of them. You get the right away at a four way stop almost everytime. The first time an 18 wheeler blew the horn at me I thought I had cut him off even though I hadn't switched lanes. It does get scary at times. I like when the people behind you at the traffic lights have their foreheads on their windshield trying to read the bumper. I will repeat, I had no idea that the car was going to get that reaction. I never had a "neat" car before the cat. |

Sasquatch Would a sane person have a high-priced car that has only two seats, no head room and poor visibility with the top up, dinky trunk space, no spare tire, small gas tank, and that befuddles everyone who sets eyes on it? Of course! All the rest of them are nuts. ------------------ |

I used to get the tailgaters, trying to see what kind of exoitc car was driving in front of them. They had been kind of shy to approach along side the car. Then, I got the shimmers, now they can read it is a prowler. Nowadays, they drive along side and take pictures and video. I live in tourist town..."Orlando". |

With the top up, the blind spots are a definite problem and safety issue. I tried Ted's idea of the 3 inch blind spot mirrors and it solves that problem totally. |
