I just wanted to stop in and say "Hi."

I just purchased a new 2001 Silver Prowler and I am totally addicted to the car.

I am a newbie to this board as well as the Prowler world, so any advice, input, etc would be great.

Are there any functions or organized groups near the Philadelphia area? I live just 30 minutes outside of Philly.

Thanks!

Paul

Hello Paul congratulations on your new Prowler and welcome to the POA!

Things to consider for your new Kat:
-Replace the front brake pads with Raybestos ceramic pads to eliminate brake dust
-Definately get mud flaps for the front to prevent rock nicks and keep the side of the car cleaner

Be sure to check the Owners Registry and sort by state to find other enthusiasts near you!

Mike,

Thanks for the quick reply and also the advice. I will take it.

Also. . .I have been browsing the board and noticed a lot of people use a banner in their signature, and I also noticed many have won awards and trophies. . .Are these from Prowler events, or car events? I am just wondering if there is a real place for the Prowler to enter an event (which is normally older classic cars) in my area ???

Thanks again,

Paul

Paul, Dan Pena does most of the banners that are in the signatures. You could email him or just send him a private message to request a banner.

The little picture to the left directly under a persons name is called an Avatar. If you would like one, take a digital picture of your car and email it to me.

Paul........Welcome to the Prowler Owners Association and Prowleronline.com!

Congratulations on your new Silver Cat!! If you think you are addicted now, just wait!!!

You will find that the POA is made up of a great bunch of people! We all love our cats and we love cruisin'......especially together. On the Main page, check out some of the Event scrapbooks and you will see some of the events we have had and how much fun we have! Let see, there was Woodward Dream Cruise 2000, Grand Canyon Tour, Texas Speed Weekend, and we just returned from the Crazy Horse/Deadwood 4th of July Tour! That's not counting lots of local events.

Coming up on August 16-18 is the Woodward Dream Cruise 2001 here in Detroit! It is billed at the world's largest one day cruise, with 1.6 million people and over 30,000 hot rods and cars. Check the scrapbook from last year's event. The Make A Difference Charity Foundation, Carol Schultz (POA member) are all involved in this event for our POA owners! It is the coolest! If you are interested in attending, I will email you my phone number to tell you more about it. We still have some spaces left at our event site.

There should be 60+ prowler owners and their cars. It would be a great way to meet your fellow Prowler owners!

There is a lot of great information on this board. You can do a search for info or just ask away!! People will respond very quickly to any questions you have!!!

Congrats on the new Cat and welcome. If you have cruise nights in your area, attend one or more. You will get lots of fliers on shows and events placed in your car. Many have categories such as Mopar 1960 to Present or Special Interest. You can fit in either of these categories and others as well. I have been well recieved at all events I attend. I have even one some firsts. My very first, first place, was at the Southeastern Mopar meet. I Attended a Cruise just tonight. They had nearly 500 cars there. 1 PT, 2 Vipers and 1 Prowler (me) were in attendance. Mikes has already covered the must have for your Cat. Especially the front flaps.

Wow! Thanks everyone for the warm welcome.

Years ago I was actually a Mustang guy (don't boo me. . .lol) . . .I had several that I restored. My favorite car was my '69 Mach One. . .I got into real estate in '92 and I had to give up my toys for more "serious" cars that I toured clients in. . .Well. . .Now that I have owned the company for the past 3.5 years and I haven't put a client in any of my cars since then I figured it was time to start having some fun again.

Does anyone know where I would start to look for a Mopar Club, or other clubs that would have events locally???

I have already made a couple of "opppppppppps" mistakes with the car. . .it is hard to judge the distance of that front end, and I have bumped it on a curb a couple of times the days I took it out to show it off. . . .hmmmm . . .anyone have any tricks of the trade they have learned. . .I assume it is just going to come with experience of driving the car more often. . .I have just been extra conservative for now.

Thanks again!

Paul

Paul, simply park the car watching where the rear end sticks at the back of the parking space. Then you always know you have enough clearance on the nose. Personally, I would say the rear flaps are just as needed. Keeps the junk off the rear fenders when you go through any water or rocks, dirt etc. Welcome to the POA~!

Don't be worried about looing like a rookie parking your kat around curbs when you think you should move closer because your to far away DON'T THAT'S WHEN IT HAPPENS. We had a thread on this awhile ago most of us did the same. MUD FLAPS don't be like I was for 2 yrs didn't think they looked kool get them on.
Always make sure your tops is strapped down when in the trunk,
Where the deck lid latch closes over the top when it's down put a cloth on top of the top where they meet it will stop the wear marks from the deck lid latch. Hope I explained that one ok
