ok, ok if you guys keep it from the anti street racing crowd. We took off exactly at the same time form the toll booth. I kicked his *** until around 65, which isnt bad I figure mine is stock except for the mopar exhaust. It was cool, the Kat really does have good get up and go. He soon was gone but for those brief seconds I scared the pants off this dude. But ofcourse he soon almost ate concrete as he ran up on a slower driver and was unable to decide which of the four lanes he was gonna take and it looked kinda funny as the *** end of the camaro almost came around on him. I eased it into a about 80 and crused on home. If my Kat was as fast as some of you guys I would probably be in trouoble because I love to street race! |

Thats great to hear about your little escapade as i like to "play" too. I was at the track just recently and i raced a hooked up vette that was running about a 13.30 At the light, my prowler had him up to the 60 foot mark but after that is when i started losing to him. I guess those foot wide tired do make a difference for us b/c we have traction when everyone else doesnt. Have fun beating chevys! ------------------ Amsoil Engine and Tranny Fluid |

quote: Uh, NO! You realize that everyone in here can read your posts and most probably have questions about your writings. But hey, if I was that way, perhaps I'd want to race around on the streets and kill myself to.
Second, When I started college, I was in pre-medicine (as were most). I augmented that with becoming a certified respiratory therapist, a certified operating room technician, and working in every department from ICU, CCU, Emergency, Surgery, etc. While taking 15+ hours of college, and working full time evenings in hospitals, I also worked days off driving an ambulance. I saw my share of the downside to street racing. Ever see what hitting a person with fast car does to both the car and the body? Unfortunately I have and too many times. To this day I remember a girl (17 or 18 y.o) who was adding gas to car (from the rear) when some nut street racing lost control and and rear ended her car. Her legs were between those cars on impact. When we arrived, I was the last person she saw alive and had to hold back tears holding her while she cried for her mom as the life ran out of her. I was only 19 myself. I have hundreds of similar street racing stories that I unfortunately had to bear witness to after the fact. In every case, the drivers, if still alive, all thought they had it under control. Not one went out to race with the intent of killing someone or a number of people. But they did. I have nothing against racing, provided it's at the proper place (track or drag) and not on the street. Where personal are also waiting in case something does go wrong. So go ahead, make some silly comment but, in the end, you or some innocent family is going to be the real loser and that is very sad to me. ------------------ Mods: 2001 Speed Yellow Porsche Cabriolet |

Hey Chrome, There are people like trey everywhere. Take it for what its worth. You knew he would have his little story to say and his little sermon to preach. He aint nothin. Just enjoy life and smile at those who want to try to put a damper on all the fun. Life is way too fun to be bothered by "pesky" little treys. However, It is a free country We still have the HotRod era to thank for being the orig. designers of our cars. Which I think he actually "used"(?)own one before he "modified" to the porsche. I wonder what we'd all be driving if the "HotRod" era hadnt come along? Maybe if it were treys decision we'd all be driving bicycles. But opps! We might "street race" and hit a curb and lose control and hit someone on the side walk!? OMG!!! What if we never took a chance? Risked life or limb? We would have never seen a football game, gone to the moon....and so on.....I rest my case. |

Hey now, I got to get in on this...........you two fools who like to pose as some sort of a racer, are just that, posers. You have a stock prowler and think you can outrun V8's..........the only way you could is if the other car has an equal fool driver. Punks race on the street as that is because they are WTB's. If they come to the track, they loose, loose, loose. So they just try to race out on the street, at some redlight in the middle of town and try to convince themselves that they have outrun somebody light to light. Hi Ho makes a very clear and good point. If you want to race, bring it on........you'll only find me at the track. And bring lots of money. Put your money where your mouth is and get ready to loose it all.......I'm very fast for a V6 in the quarter mile but after that, even a stock V8 of any size will overtake the smaller V6. Don't fool yourselves or try to make it sound like you have outrun somebody.................go to any test & tune and you'll see yourselves there with ma and pops LTD or whatever they have, just dogging it like they are some kind of racer. Just makes me laugh. And Chrome, you wanting to challenge someone to a fight over this chat board............I see you too like to live dangerously by other means than street racing. Grow up guys, if you kill yourselves playing, oh well but if you kill someone else playing, you deserve the death penalty in my opinion, you would just be a cold blooded murderer......... ------------------ |

HiHoSilver - Remember the following bit of philosophy - "Never argue with an idiot, for he will lower you to his level and win with his experience". (I agree that the 'street' is the wrong place to race) |

Koz, Clearly, .......... never mind again, were from H town, they just don't understand! I like the cycle analogy. I'm going to tell my kids to stop racing asap, and get my wife off of her skateboard. Hell were locking it down here and staying inside where its SAFE! OOPS is it safe inside? I know we will freeze dry ourselves until Cab man and Dude in the hot tub make the world a totally safe place for us all to live er exist with out taking any chances, having any fun and of course hit'n the pedal at a light! Do you guys really never go past the posted speed limit, and never accelerate faster than needed to get you to the posted speed limit. I doubt it. Peace OUT MOds-Cab and a tub |

Hey now, I guess some people just don't get it. But they will...............one day. You two guys think you can control a accident?????? You won't want people like me on that jury....................you guys are missing the message. I will get a picture of a friend of mine who's face was peeled off so repairs could be made to his bone structure..............and he was just street racing. If just one person get hurt or dies, you want that on your conscience?????? ------------------ |

OK-OK. HERES THE DEAL. IF THE ROADS CLEAR AND THERE'S NO ONE AROUND AND YOUR NOT GOING TO INTERFERE WITH ANYONE ELSE'S RIGHT A WAY, THEN WHAT'S THE BIG DEAL FOR A FEW HUNDRED FEET ? IT'S THE SAME THING AS DRIVING 80 MPH AT TWO IN THE MORNING WHEN NO ONES ON THE FREEWAY. BUT IF JOHN LAW IS HIDING, WELL YOU KNOW THE STORY. |
