Had her in the shop the other day to have deck lid (trunk ) adjusted cause it was rubbing against body every time I opened it. Have had it there other times to have the side panels adjusted. They've rubbed against the doors. I asked the TECH. whats up? The suspension so tight the panels shift? He said NO. The aluminum is growing from the warm weather. He said your lucky you have a yellow Kat. The Black Kats are awfull, they really grow from the heat!!
Anyone else ever hear that?? I know metal/plastic will expand and contract but .125--.250??
Comments please!

My Cat when driven sits in the direct sun as you can see above and I have never had any alignment issues.

His story sounds a little fishy ... ???

It gets very hot here in Georgia, Purple is a dark color and I have no problem with body panels growing or rubbing.

Let's assume the temp gets as high as 120 degrees (and I think that is high) no metal is going to change properties at that temperature. Engines are made out of aluminium for Gods sakes!

I agree with all you guys. Nyle, he did shim the side panels up and pulled em back also. I went out in the shop and watched him. I looked over his shoulder every minute. The trunk looked as it though mis-adjusted its self. The inside strap on the on the passenger side was at a different height than the driver side strap. He lossened the bolts adjusted, and retightened. Thanks for the comments. I figured he was blowin smoke!

your man is not all that wrong guys......
I am in the collision business and happen to won a Black Kat. As far as the metal is concerned, he is incorrect. I work with a lot of G.M. products and there for a time Cad.,Pont.,Buick, and a few others that dont come to mind had/have plastic fenders. These are nightmares during our 100 degree weather down here. In order to properly align a fender and or deliver a car to a customer we have to run the car through the wash to cool it down. Often times after a fender is put on the heat of the sun could warp it if the bolts were tightened too tight. Our cars come with shoulder bolts to prevent the warping problem caused from being over tightened. So I guess in short, the plastic panels do expand. The right side panel is rubbing the plastic rocker at this point but I'm not concerned due to my adjusting it before it's ghost flamed.......Good Luck to you!

I have had my rear deck lid adjusted and painted twice. Still is not right. I don't know what the problem is. I hope this can be fixed.

Well that STINKS Chris! Your Kat, my Kat, who else is having problems like this? I thought they (D/C) only made 14 Kats per day? Why these kind of problems??
