Why is it that posts are deleted and threads are locked or disappear I've even heard rumors of posters being banned from this site. I thought that is why you guys started this site because you disagreed with the exact same behavior on the other site. It looks like things have come full circle, and now its the pot calling the kettle black. |

Maybe you can be a little more specific? To the best of my knowledge these have not happened. ------------------ |

I have thought the same things about some of my posts in the past. It turned out that there were more than one thread that was very similar and I had posted on another and it was still there. An example would be that it was in the general discussion and also in the events area. I have also posted and it did not "register" as my computer has a recurring problem, and I did not wait long enough to make sure the post was indeed accepted. If you hit the submit reply button but do not wait for it to take you back, you may not always succeed. If that is not the case you need to give a very specific instance. I don't think it has happened as there have been a few posts that deserve to be censored, in my opinion, and they were never removed. If in doubt, do a search and see if it pops up somewhere other than where you thought it was originally. |

There was a time when this board added more discussion areas and posts were moved around but not removed. For those that knew they had posted in the GENERAL DISCUSSION area would have found out their topic was moved to the OFF TOPIC or vis versa. |

I've been doing a LOT of posting over the last year. I think I am still in second place for number of posts. I've never had one of my deleted unless I did it myself. There have also been several occasions where I was in a hurry and instead of hitting "submit", I just started arrowing back (oops). Had to go back later when I realized what I did and repost!! Dan is correct, when we have added forums, threads have been moved around to be placed in the proper forum...no big deal. I can think of only one instance where an entire forum was deleted and that was the PODRA which pertained to attempting to set up a drag racing venue for Prowler owners. It turned out to be something that was not beneficial to the POA and I don't think anyone had a problem with its demise! ------------------ |

quote:Hmmm, I'd have to agree with you...UNLESS; Maybe he set up his preferences to only show the last 10 days (for example) and the thread he is looking for is older than that. That would make it **APPEAR** like the thread in question has gone missing...when in fact it has not. Speaking from experience...and those of you who frequent the Viper Board will KNOW what I mean.... this phenomenon simply does not exist over on this board. I just fired up the other browser and did a check of this forum back to the beginning of MAY...no CLOSED threads. My thoughts are that this is a quest for a T-shirt...so resist the urge and don't reply!!! Prowlin4Free- Why don't you contact me and I'll help you with whatever problems you are having? ------------------ |

No Tony, I want to respond. Fred, you are way off base with your assumption. (Actually, I think you are full of it; but if I said that, it would be deleted right?) Nice try.......... |

I have over 600 posts and NOT ONE post has ever been deleted.(fact not rumor) I think you should not listen to rumors, When you have some facts then you should make a post when it comes to this subject. ------------------ davidn |

Why don't we all respond so that he can win a T-shirt, but at the last moment the "Censors" can delete the entire thread. Just a thought. |

Hey now, chinch bug, I know that's you. Guess I'll get my hand slapped again but heres my take on the subject. If your in the posse, you can say what you want about anything or anyone but if your not, watch it, don't cross that undefined line, you know, like I was told on a post by the king pin and they always us blackjacks, in the performance discussion board............guess I should be more specific????? Ok then, it was ok for Gary to call me a dumbass but when I returned the complement, I got my hand slapped. Isn't this censorship or am I crazy?................no one has to answer that.................but go ahead if you want...........no, I want you to answer that..........I need to know...................Lets get it on!!!!!!! the site is starting to get boreing again............. ------------------ This message has been edited by FatManInTheBathTub on 06-27-2001 at 07:21 PM |
