has received their flag caddies and who has not received them that already paid for them? John Grubb still has not recvd. his and I mailed them on the 7th. I could have walked them to his house by now. Any Postal workers on this site? Give me some feedback so I know what to do next. A week is a long time to go from Ohio to MN. I know some of you have recvd. them because I got some email but I already deleted them.

Ed, thank you, I got mine and took them out tonight for a trial run. This comment is no reflection on your efforts to get us these flags, Ed, but it only took 3-4 minutes at 45 mph to begin to rip both of the flags.

Before anyone else installs them (they fit great by the way!) I'd recommend running a bead of clear silicone or glue along the trailing edge of the flag, i. e., the edge, when blowing, furthest from the white plastic post. I theorize that this cementing of the fibers may keep the material from tearing. They beat so hard in the slipstream that it's a challenge just to keep from ripping apart. I'm going to try my own cure tomorrow.

I'll let you know what the results are.

Thanks ed

Got mine today, Bigfoot was in town and pushed me around the block and he split his pants. Looks like he hasn't changed his underwear in month's, my neighbor screamed and passed out. He has been gone for hours and the place still smells.

WOW

thanks again

Paul, I agree the flags and the white poles are not very good quality. The main thing is that the hardware itself, the flag caddy is pretty good. I purchased black dowel sticks in 48" lenghts that I am going to cut into 16" lengths. You need 7/16ths dowels. I am including these 16 inch poles with all of the embroidered flags.
The embroidered flags are excellent quality. They will withstand high speeds, however I still will not be driving at high speeds with any flags attached.
I think the US Flags that were included are meant for parades only. The white pole is probably plenty strong but is not very attractive. Do you agree that the flag caddy itself is high quality?

Yes, Ed, I agree that the design is clever and well made. I will take you advice and substitute the dowel for the plastic pole. I wanted to make comments about the flags as warning to everyone that they are not intended to be used at anything other than 25mph and lower cruising.

Can you direct me back to the embroidered flag discussion and on what date that occurred? I will now consider an embroidered flag instead.

Got mine last week and the only downside was the ripping of the flags and that the poles start to bend backwards if you go too fast. But hopefully CJ can get me my prowler flags sometime.....

Paul, the embroidered flags are flags with the word Prowler embroidered on them, above an embroidered cat. Most of the people ordered white flags with colored stitching that matches their cars. I also had some made that has a picture of the car, similar to the embroidered car on my hat in Ed's Junque Botique posted by me ex-good friend Andy R. lol. When I saw how chintzy the plastic US Flag poles were, I decided I needed something much better so I bought pre-painted black dowel sticks (7/16) and they are just a very slight bit too big, so I am sanding down the poles before I ship the embroidered flags. They are $ 25 each.

Ed, question for the Engineering Dept.

When we replace the flagcaddie poles, how will the flags attach to bottom of new wooden dowel pole??? laddie...

I found 7/16" x 48" wooden dowel at Home Depot & it seems to fit pretty tight into flagcaddie mounting aparatus... Now, working on the tie-down for bottom of flag....

Laddie, the 7/16th painted dowel sticks would not even go into the caddies. I had to sand them to get them in. I then had to take 2 pair of vise grips to get them out by rotating them. I sanded just a hair more off of them and they seem fine. I only did one set, as that is all I had available. I am getting the rest of the poles when I get the flags on Monday. He called Friday while I was at a golf outing. I called him on his cell phone Sat. and he was in Columbus, OH at a Good Guys event so I will not get them until Monday. I want to make sure the flags look good on the back and I need to fix the poles.
Plan # 1 is to simply use double faced tape on the pole. That will work, I think. If not,
plan # 2 they could be stapled on which means you would not be able to interchange flags.
# 3 is to take a very small nail (actually a brad) and place it all the way thru the stick at about a 45 degree angle so that it barely emerges. I would drill a hole before sticking a nail thru it. Possibly doing that in 2 directions.
Naturally I am hoping the double face tape works since it would be WAAAY simpler. I used double faced tape on the large REDS Baseball flag, which was hung horizontally and it worked fine but we didn't drive 60 miles an hour, either. I suppose you fisherman could use an extremely small fish hook and tape it to the dowel stick and the hook and barb would hold the flag. The embroidered flags do have a sleeve to slide over the pole.
I realize this is a little long but I wanted to make it perfectly clear. O, yeah, I am sure I succeeded.
Laddie, when you came out of Home Depot was there a good looking babe in your cat?
I am supplying the black dowel sticks for anyone who ordered embroidered flags. I am NOT replacing the plastic flag poles for those who only ordered flag caddies. I hope everyone understood that but I don't know if I had previously made that clear. The plastic flag pole has a barb on it and I don't think you could take the US flag off without damaging one or the other.

Ed, when I came out of Home Depot, there wasn't even a babe much less good looking babe in my cat... Also could not find the suspenders there either... I guess I'll have to use one of CJ's links...

One other tip... Karen sewed the top (of the closed flag sleeve). The flagcaddie plastic pole poked a hole in one of my American flags with all the testing I've been doing... Hope our hotel in Deadwood has one of these little sewing mending kits in bathroom ...

Blackcat, Did you get caddies from me? I don't recognize your name but some people have several names that they use on the site and then their real name is different, of course. Anyway, CJ was selling silk screened flags and I am not sure of the price, but somewhere around $ 10 or 12, I think. I am selling embroidered flags for $ 25 each and you will receive a black wooden pole with each flag. That is two totally separate things. If you ordered flags from me I think they will be ready to ship Tuesday if all goes well. If you did not order from me, you may still be able to get some as I ordered some extras. Once I figure out who you are I can look in my emails. I apologize for not being able to put a real name with Blackcat.
It is people like Bigfoot, Alley Cat, LeCat, Larry S that make this so confusing. (Not really but I haven't ragged on him all day and it is getting late) Besides, he is quite memorable.
If you want an American flag to replace that flag, you should be able to find one reasonably priced right after the 4th of July. There should be plenty available in almost any type of store.
Sorry about the cheap flags that come with the flag caddies. I have no control over that.

Yes I ordered them from you AKA: Bill Campbell. I'd like to get a "SET" (remember now?) of the prowler flags.

Bill, yes now I know who you are. Sorry about that but I was getting 20 to 40 emails a day mostly from people that I have never met so it was mass confusion for awhile. Now tell me exactly what you want. Do you want the word Prowler over the cat logo, or do you want a car and the word Prowler? What color flag and what color stitching? They are $50 a SET plus postage, which should only be $1 or 2. I don't know what I have coming tomorrow, as far as extras. If you are lucky to pick what I have already made I will be able to ship them this week. If you are not lucky it will be after we come back from Crazy Horse, most likely. I will post tomorrow night if everything works out.
Again I am sorry about the crummy US Flags. I was really disappointed when I saw them. The other possible problem is that the back of these embroidered flags may not look good and need to have a plain piece of material sewn on the back. Or you can order 4 flags to make two double sided flags but that is $100, which is a lot of flags.

Ed - Sorry, but now glad, I wasn't in on this special purchase of flags, dowels, caddies, poles, brackets, etc of whatever it was you were selling. Just power reading through the above posts, it looks like I'm going to have to collect and hold the money from the sales of the pencils at Deadwood, and anything else we might sell. As Vice-President of Sales and Marketing, I can say we don't need this kind of confusion in our company. If you weren't the CEO, I'd fire your as$ on the spot! I may have a board meeting tomorrow and appoint GPShultz in charge of Direct Sales and Consumer Complaint Dept. Co-ordinator.....
