Turns out Valancia Chrysler Jeep is refusing to replace the items on the Orange that have oxidized and corroded due to their refusal to let me take her home during the 4.5 months she was "being repaired" and even worse, I have an arbitration appointment for this Tuesday and the Local DSM, Tracy Latiker, is trying to make it sound like it was MY fault the car sat at the body shop for the 4.5 months! I cannot begin to describe how upset I am at this... ------------------ |

Do you by chance have anything in writing which states that the dealership "refused" or said "no" in regards to letting you store the car off their property, or even inside during this time frame? This would be the nail in THEIR @r$#. Let me know if I can assist. I can't pull any strings, but I can ask my local dealership what they would do. I hate the place, but even they did not want to keep the car while we were waiting for warranty parts to trickle in. ------------------ This message has been edited by SPCL-T on 06-03-2001 at 05:07 AM |

Too bad Todd. They should have at least thrown a tarp or something over the exposed parts. This is a collector's car, not your average vehicle and should have been treated that way. Dont give up, you'll get them. Too bad it will need litigation to straighten out. ------------------ |

Todd, please check your private messages! As an FYI to all............ I don't mean this as an insinuation that all of you would not be smart enough to already know this. Any time that you are attempting to resolve issues with your dealer and/or the manufacturer (be it DC or any of the others), it is most wise to document, in writing, every phone conversation, every dealership visit and any other contact you have with the dealer and/or the manufacturer. Dates, times and names of contacts that you speak with are most important. Complete and accurate notes of these visits and conversations are important. Just a word to the wise. ------------------ This message has been edited by CJ on 06-03-2001 at 07:27 AM |

Screw it Todd, just go find the meanest attorney you can find and file a law suit against them and dc. Get a bunch of media coverage, hire some guys to picket their dealership. Call a local consumer advocate, and rip them a new a#$hole. It totally sucks, however when you get an attorney on their a#$ they might see things your way. Here in Texas we have several laws which allow triple damages for deceptive or misleading sales practices. It seems that the dealer was selling you a car that would not fail as it did and may fall under some conusmer law and if so you just got three prowlers for the price of one. Good luck dude. WAR DEALERSHIP AND DC Peace |

Thanks for your support guys n gals… I have an arbitration meeting tomorrow AM, and have retained an attorney for “after this” as I suspect the arbitration will not mean much. Welcome to the board Keith! The Orange had a hood hinge clearance problem, that took DC a bit to figure out, and then the repair order sat on the Service Manager’s desk for 1.5 months before he sent it to the body shop! In all, she was down 4.5 months and left outside in the day, all winter, in all weather, with the hood and side panels off. Now all the aluminum motor parts are corroded! Going to be a long haul… we shall see what happens. I suspect I’ll need as many who are willing to give a letter stating that this corrosion is not normal and natural without being left outside (which happened). The dealer is trying to pass it off as something that always happens to all cars with this motor. Like a 300M is the same car as a Prowler! Got your message CJ, and THANKS! ------------------ |

Just tell me where to write. In fact a letter campaign from all 600 + POA members to Valancia Chyrsler may not be a bad idea. What do you think? ------------------ |

That would be really ideal Rich, to them and to DC also. Thanks Al! I went to the Arbitration today, it was an instant unanimous decision to penalize Valencia Chrysler Jeep for untimely and unprofessional conduct. Now, the next step is to let the Attorney loose! ------------------ |

Todd - does that mean you won the arbitration if they are punishing the dealer or do you have to do that yourself with the lawyer? ------------------ |

Todd- Let me know if I can help, I know a couple real pro customer zone reps that helped me with my dealer not wanting to work on my hood hinge squeek problem, one of them got really involved and things really got moving. If you want us to start emailing your dealership about corrosion issues supply us with the address or for your lawyer, is Johnny Cochrane available??!! I live in Northern Wisconsin where everything corrodes if not covered up, aluminum as well. Keep your chin up, we're all friends behind you!! |

It means that they will bill the dealer for the cost of getting me a new car, which means the A*S who is responsible for this problem will have his name all over that bill ( the dealer service manager). Still waiting on word from the attorney about going after them, might have to try a few of them. Anyone know a good one in So Cal? Thanks for the support guys! ------------------ |
