Wayne- I think that is the Kat that was totaled here in Texas and that both lives were lost in the accident. What a shame. From what I heard, both were NOT wearing seat belts. ------------------ |

Gary - sounds like there might be a couple of motors available for you?
Please enjoy your family, friends, and the fun times this Memorial Day holiday - but remember to drive carefully and return to your home and the POA website, ASAP. Larry and Sondra |

Was that car a rollover? Hard to tell because the driver side looks untouched, but there's a patch of grass on the passenger side. If it was a rollover, take a look at the headrests. I always assumed that they were headrests/roll hoops, but from looking at how those are bent, I guess you're pretty doomed if you roll the car? |

No airbags off, so probably a right side rollover around a turn-too bad for the car and passengers ------------------ |

Believe it or not, the windshield surround on our cars is made of fiber filled plastic. It is a multi-piece construction, that is bonded together at the vendor's plant before being shipped to DC. It also has the wiring harness in it for the rear view mirror. There is NO, I repeat, NO structural support for the top of the Prowler. ------------------ |

This is very disturbing. It appears that there is no rollover protection. I wonder if the occupants were belted in if the belts would have pulled them down into the seats. At 6 feet, my head protrudes alightly above the seat "Roll bar." Doesn't look like it will be much protection. I'll now be using one of my other cars when I feel like driving hard for an afternoon. |

Well, as I have said before......this car was not designed to be a race car.....it was designed to be a cruisin' car. How tragic that irresponsibility took the lives of two people. ------------------ |

CJ, Isn't there a requirement mandated by the Feds on rollover protection for convertibles for the automakers? |
