I own both a valentine one and the 8500, still love my v-1 the best, but the 8500 is pretty nice. Just my opinion.

Cliff, Good thing you got one. 126 has already gotten John and Dan. But I figured you were in that good old boy network, considering who you work for. LOL
Also did not know you were Canadian, eh

Well - I have to confess it has helped me a couple of times (a very long time ago) but I have not even been pulled over in the last 15 years. I don't think they would give me a break if I were speeding in the Prowler.

I have, however, got to know several of the CHP and Sheriffs by face since they drive by all the time. So a good wave is worth a ton of protection I think. I think you were the one that tipped me off to that Jim since you live in a small town too.

It helps that I don't rip through town either

So far the Passport hasn't helped me - to me it seems rather obvious that it is up and if they saw me they would pull me over just for having it - haven't found a good way to use it and hide it at the same time.

My eyes are still better - last week I had this pick up pacing me going into Fillmore and then all of a sudden he just took off - I let him get about 100 feet away and then paced him (doing about 80). Came around the corner and there was a CHP getting ready to do a U - I had slowed to about 70 because I couldn't see the truck around the corner. My first impression was that he was going to get me but he went after the truck - got him doing probably around 70 in a 45 zone by the time he stopped him. I just drove on by minding my own business.

Cliff - I beleive they make a unit that mounts in the grill and you hard wire it into the dash where you mount the controller and recieving unit. Pretty cool. This way everything is hidden. The detector is in your grill and monitor mounted somewhere in your dash area.

Paul - now that would be something to check into - with the top down it is so blatant that it is up there on the window....

Jim - the Canadian thang... hah - I had a really good friend that I used to hang with A LOT that was Canadian (born/raised in Cardston) but he got transferred to Munich and now is in Toronto - some friend - letting himself get transferred all over the place - now that he knows I have a prowler though he is coming back to visit hahahahaha.

Anyway - I think I picked up some of the Canadian thangs and haven't gotten rid of them yet - I don't waddle like a DUCK though heh.
