I am in the Connecticut suburbs of New York City, and really want to find a good tech for my Kat. Anybody have any recommendations in the area between Westechester, NY and Hartford? Sure appreciate it. |

I see you have a Prowler in Seattle also. Have you found a good tech there? I am looking for one. |

The Kat for Seattle is on a truck from Florida as we speak, scheduled to arrive by Friday. I stopped by Town & Country on Aurora yesterday, in fact, to see if they have a guy, and they assured me he is good (what would you expect them to say?). I have used them for several years for a Grand Cherokee I had, and they were outstanding. I still can't figure if everybody in this area (Seattle) runs without a front plate. The guy at T&C told me he never sees a Prowler come in with one on. Also, this car is '99, and is sprung completely differently from my Mulholland. Trying to imagine what kind of ride I'll get on these beat up roads! On the service thing, it really seems to vary from place to place. So many of these cars leave the areas they are sold in, that there's no telling how many the dealer actually ever sees. The techs go to a school, but if they don't see enough of them, they really aren't always sure how to fix stuff. I found that out in Florida, where I got a spectacular guy at Massey Yardley in Hobe Sound (Richard). He knew the car inside and out, and fixed things that other dealers had never been able to figure out. That's the reason for the original post. |

Yes, everyone runs without front plates on Prowlers even though illegal. The cops are somewhat forgiving with this car but if you run into a bad cop (and few have) it's not a moving violtion and not too expensive a ticket. The Seattle labor market has been mean and good Prowler techs have "moved on". They are probably the bank manager now for all I know. DC no longer requires a Prowler tech to ship a dealer cars since now there is more supply than demand. Best I can usually get is "no prowler tech here but we will put one of our better people on it". |
