I need to take a poll among the Prowler owners.... A great number of you have expressed an interest in having Prowler flags and banners. Sylvia at the CAAP store has been looking into having a Prowler car flag done in time for Dream Cruise. I need to know if there is enough interest in this type of item. Danny A. has come up with a unique way to attach a car flag to a bicycle flagpole, which then could be mounted to a trailer hitch or the trailer tongue. I'm not sure of other possibilities for mounting the bike flagpole; if any of you have any ideas, please share them with us. I would also need to know what you would be willing to pay for this type of item. The most economical way that was presented to Sylvia was to have a white flag with the Prowler logo and cat in black. As she needs to order a minimum number of flags, the cost for having the flags in white with different color logos would raise the cost. Would you be kind enough to let me know if you are interested in: 1. Purchasing a Prowler car flag Thanks!!! ------------------ This message has been edited by CJ on 05-15-2001 at 09:55 PM |

Flag is great idea. I like the bicycle pole attached to hitch but would prefer attaching to latch pin to fit in holes in trunk for convertible top). I would buy black on white but would pay more for colors. Price wouldn't be a huge factor. Count me in ------------------ |

CJ, I was at a Cruise-in with Stoney (LndRckt) in Dayton 2 weeks ago and he had flags made for his Prowler. The were actually Corvette poles that fit into the rear deck roof holes on the Prowler. Looked GREAT! Here is a link to the sites where he got his bits and pieces. Maybe you can make a deal with one of the vendors to make them for the Prowler.
Got the flags from http://conde.com/imprint/imprintables You might be able I was going to do this for myself, but since you are on it, I'll wait to see what you can do. I also would like different colors (yellow/black) if possible. ------------------ |

Yeah...KenG and OhioSilverCat are right. Had the flags silkscreened at a local shop...about $80. Flagcaddie poles work great in the trunk holes. Be sure to get the C5 model. Have not tested top speed with the flags...too much $$ in the flags. I have the image files in the exact size (approx 12" wide) if anybody needs them...got them from cegraphics.com. It would be easy to fill the logos with another color using PhotoShop. ------------------ |

Wildcat, will you please post a picture of the flag you bought from me so everyone can see it. I am not trying to steal CJ's thunder but I can get this type of flag, embroidered in any color cat, on any color flag for $ 25 to 30 each. It is only embroidered on one side, naturally. If you want two sided, you would have to order two and have them sewn together. They are top quality. He can embroider the car, cat or word Prowler or any combination there of. Larry can you also post a picture of the denim shirt or Phil post the racing type shirts and hats. Thanks. |

Great idea's guy's (& girl's). I'm game for the either silk screening or embroidery. Let me know what, when or where issue's. Color options is a must! At least 2 back ground colors should be available, white being the primary, but something to allow the silver and yellow (lighter colors) to stand out would be nice. I've got some contacts for screening, pad printing and flag making too. Let me know if I can help. I was actually thinking of working on this project on my own. But I was going to make something to fasten into the "front" tie-downs (top to wind shield). Should I proceed, or is the trunk deck the better place? ------------------ |

Hi Lndrckt. Flags look nice.. The flagcaddie says the C5 (97 to 01) is a winddhield mount. Is this the correct p/n? ------------------ |

Comments on the flag issue. 1 The flagcaddie looks like a good solution to how to hang a flag on the Prowler. Two options-window or deck lid. Thinking of this summer, a July 4th parade of Prowlers with stars&stripes would be impressive. 2 As LndRckt illustrated in his post, you need a "left" and "right" version of the flag. 3 I vote for colors for all colors of cats, you know how we each love our own color. ------------------ |

If anyone wants an embroidered flag please email me at edmona@prodigy.net and tell me what color flag with what color car, word "Prowler" and/or cat. Let me know approx. what size flag. If you order them within the next couple of weeks I will bring them to Crazy Horse. If you only want one flag specify which way you want it facing, if you are ordering two of the same flag I will presume you want one facing each way. Hopefully Wildcat will post a picture of his flag. That flag is 2 ft high by 3 ft wide. For hanging on a rod at the top of the trunk you will want a smaller flag. The most common size is a flag the size of a golf course flag, rectangular, not a penant shape. In fact they are golf course flags. I would think the smaller flag will be $20 or less. Satisfaction is guaranteed or I will refund your money personally. |

Laddie- Yes, you want the windshield mount for the 97-01. They seem to work just fine in the Prowler trunk lid, or you can use them on your C5! ------------------ |

Ed, I would like 4 Flags, 2 white with Prowler Purple and 2 white with Prowler Midnight Blue if possible. Maybe talking with the poll vendor we can get a discount if we get a large enough order. Would like to get the Purple before the Crazy Horse trip if possible. We are planning on heading out June 23. ------------------ |

ED, the flag is to large to scan (LOL) and I do not have a digital camera yet. It does look good. If he is doing on black I would suggest black backing instead of white though. Larry |

Phil, I will call him tomorrow and place a semi large order with various color combinations and I will make sure you get yours in plenty of time. Do you need them before you leave home or do you just want me to bring them to Crazy Horse? What do you want on the flag, car or word Prowler or cat or two of three or all three? With embroidery the back of the flag is not going to look good, not finished. I guess we could get a plain flag sewed(or is that sewn?) to the back to hide the stitching. I received the other orders and I will get mostly white flags except for the silver prowlers, I will get black flags and a few variations. Money back guarantee, if you don't like it you do not have to keep it. I will have to check into the pole. I have no idea about it at this point but will check it out soon. |

Ed, While your at it, maybe you can check on American flags to use during the Fourth of July Parade in Lead. It would look very impressive to have a bunch of Prowlers with American Flags in the parade. Thanks, Larry |

I can definitely get American flags since one of the biggest flag manufacturers in the country is about 10 minutes away. They are priced to purchase in volume. I gave my catalog away but will get a new one and check it out. I just looked at the pole on the website. $25 a pop is ridiculous. I know I can find something WAY cheaper than that. Stoney, maybe I will get in touch with you to look at it in person. Their website doesn't show much detail. What is the pole made of? |

Ed- $25 a pop is for 2 US flags, pole, and mounting hardware. from www.flagcaddie.com I didn't think it was too unreasonable. The pole is plastic. The mounting hardware is 2 metal pieces. The pole slides in the top (trunk lid) piece about 1/2" and the retainer screws in from the bottom. Very secure and tight fit. You can see the top piece in the pix above and their web site shows a diagram. Quality seems above average for all pieces. The guy who owns flagcaddie designed the hardware for different model Corvettes. ------------------ |

I thought the price was $ 25 for each side, my mistake. I wrote a letter asking about a group discount, for 50 sets. I will post when I hear back from him. $ 25 for two including the flag is not outrageous. If the price is reasonable I will buy 50 sets and sell them at cost. |
