Have my sights honed in on a Blue Prowler -- wonder about 2000 Plymouth vs 2001 Chrysler (collectibility years down the road) -- should I trade or keep 2000 Silver -- can't rationally justify both -- irrationally want both? I have a reasonably good deal lined up. I'd like some input from the Prowlin' faithful! I've had the Silver since March 2000 and have thoroughly enjoyed it!

It has been stated on this board many times...do not consider these cars as an investment...collectability wise the Blue is a special edition as opposed to the silver which is just another color....if we all live long enough you might get your money back, but big time difference in $$$$ between the two Prowlers probably will not happen...personally I would trade if the deal is good just to have a different car, but then I have had 7 Prowlers in 2 years.....so much for my sanity...I have a blue Kat now with 38 miles on it...IT IS BEAUTIFUL, I had a silver 2000 a year or so ago....it also was beautiful....TRADE, have fun and don't worry about banking these cars...invest in living today........

Hi, Leon............

There have been several discussions on the value and collectibility of the Prowlers. Of course, there are going to be differences of opinion on this subject. Bob says (and this is his opinion) that bottom line, stock will always be worth more than modified.

The Prowler will be a collectible whether it is a Plymouth or a Chrysler. Probably Plymouth will be worth more because it was the original moniker. With regard to color, who knows?!!! We all think we have the best color.

The way I feel about it, I will never sell my Black cat. My husband bought it for me because it's what I wanted. He didn't purchase it with collectible value in mind. He bought it for me to make me happy and it certainly has and always will. It will always have sentimental value, since Bob loved me enough to give me such a great anniversary gift! It has given us some great times and great memories. That is more important to me than dollar value (collectibility).

Does it really matter? The collectibility. Shouldn't you just have the one that makes you happy and that you like? If you want a different color, get it, whether it is a Plymouth or a Chrysler. The car is supposed to be for fun and enjoyment.

Make a decision and don't look back!!! It will still provide you with smiles and fun whichever way you go!!

I agree with what Tangled said. There really isn't a difference between the "Plymouth" and the "Chrysler" Prowler so I doubt that years from now there will be a value difference due to the manufacturer name. So, basically you are looking at silver vs. blue... which do YOU prefer?

I prefer Blue -- it is actually my favorite color. Thanks to input from many of the folks on this board -- when many of you were members of the other board -- I was able to get a great deal on the Silver. At that time, I preferred Silver versus Black. The Blue has been on my mind since the color was announced and now may be the time to act. My wife may have me committed if I change cars too frequently! I blame this board for my excitement of any new associated with the Prowler! Thanks for being my alibi and group therapy!

I have a 2000 silver. I would have chosen silver over blue when I bought it simply because of the issue of dark colors look dirty more easily. I had a black collectible car that I drove even less than the Prowler. I would go out on a nice day to just jump in and take a spin, but wait it was a little dusty and that bothered me, so I would have to clean it and then the thought of a quick ride was over. I know this is anal, but silver doesn't bother me, because when it is a little dusty, I just don't see it and I simply enjoy the car much more. My 2 cents.

Richard,

I understand what you are saying about owning a dark color vehicle. I love my black cat, though, black has always been a beautiful, classic color. Yeah, it gets dusty, but I keep my California Duster handy and a bottle of Quick Detailer and in 10 minutes she's ready to go. NOTHING will deter me from taking a ride..............a quick one or a long one. Haven't taken very many quick ones.......... once I get in the car, it's hard to get out of it!!!

Bob H,

I really like the combination you put together. I look forward to seeing the additional photos. Have you considered a blue top?

We all know YELLOW is the BEST. Seen a yellow on show room floor on Friday.

Really as everyone has said, BUY WHAT YOU LIKE

Don't buy it thinking you will have a high $$$$$ collectable in a few years. Either one should holds it's value. Might never be worth as much as you pay for it, but how much is the SMILES WORTH?

From One Leon to another...I had a Silver from 11/00 until 2/01 and replaced it with the Blue...only because of the color.. for whatI paid for the switch I probably could have had a custom paint job and still had money left over for a custom interior..however...I love the blue..and yes it is harder to keep clean and the driver's seat doesn't seem quite as comfortable..but I still love it..I too lamented about giving up the Silver and no one would have thought I was crazy for keeping both..but practicality won out..I'm just grateful that I can afford to do what I do and be able to own and drive the most exciting automobile I have ever had....all of us here are fanatical about our Prowlers and I agree with all of them...the color you have..is the best color...maybe Joe Bob from Southlake would have bought a Blue one if it was available when he purchased his..but he loves his as much as anything...
Go with yout gut and you will have made the right decision.
