Hi My KAT was at the dealership all day today to adjust the top. They thought that my reported dash squeak was coming from the top. NOPE, It's in the dash somewhere and IT DRIVES ME CRAZY.....this mousy high pitch squeak is all the time. Any help would be appreciated. Are there any TSB's on this problem. Also, how do I remove the dash top cover. I want to drive the car without the top cover and gauge bezel to check this out myself while I have someone else drives my KITTY. Sasy ------------------ |

hi sassy, to remove the dash pad pull up hard on both sides then straight back instrument bezel will came with it, youcan use foam tape to insulate anything rattling underthis. when you pull up on the dasd pad you have to pull very hard be careful you dont break a fingernail. hope this helps neal |

Results, NO squaek fixed, but now I have his fingerprints INSIDE the gauges .. arrrghhh .. maybe I will need you to "do me" after your little noises are gone =)) ------------------ |

Ray, You are incorrigible! But, I must say, Sassy appears to be an "attractive" woman. I hope I don't get in trouble for this one. ------------------ |

I had my friend change my banner back. I installed my Lollipop red shimmers today, look good with the black tie. Give it a little color. Sasy.

My friend got that one from when I did the auto show in Detroit at one time. I will ask her tomorrow, she is not home now to put it back on.
PS Tomorrow I am working on my squeak in my dash somewhere. ------------------ This message has been edited by SasyMama on 04-20-2001 at 09:36 PM |

Sassy, Had the same problem with a squeak -- it was the right (passenger side) hood hinge. The mousy-like squeak was extremely brothersome and I thought for sure it was the dash. The dealership test drove my car and finally but a lubricant on the hinges and no more squeak. That was just three days ago. I'm sure in the archives of this board, there are a few more remedies if it is not the hood hinge. |

Leon Where should I oil it. How did you know for sure it was the hinge. It sure sounds like the dask somewhere. What should I do? Sasy ------------------ |

Speaking of squeeks.... they are replacing both hinges on the Orange, which is supposed to cure my squeeks and fire wall separation. ------------------ |

Well, Sassy Lassy .. since you singled me out by not aknowledging my cute, yet provocative play one words before, I will now pick (teasingly and gently of course) on your latest post and fellow poster ... "but a lubricant on" "my KITTY" ... "What should I do?" My thought ... go in slowly, being careful not to hurt anything .... then use your lubricant and apply gently to the right spot ... and finally, penetrate it thoroughy but be careful, you don;t want to make a mess at this point ... then fiish of by wiping it all down ... voila! Sqeak on hinge gone!! =) ------------------ |
