Hi Guys! I am new to your site and have enjoyed reading all your posts for the last few days so I decided to register. I have not yet purchased the beautiful Cat all you guys have but am very close, and wanted to ask the experts (you guys) a few questions. 1) I am in Colorado and have got prices in the ranges of $42,625 or thereabouts. Is this a fair price? Should I go out of state to buy, and why have some of you said to buy out of state? 2) Is there really a governor on the Orange 2001 model? Should I be concerned about this? Thanks for any insight you guys might help with. I truly love the beautiful and unique Cats you guys have! I hope to have one soon. |

Hi Alex - Welcome to ProwlerOnline. I purchased out of state (I've had my Prowler 15 days now and lovin' it) because the dealers in California ask wayyy to much - except for one but someone bought the Mulholland that was on his floor before I could get to it... right Phil Anyway - there are great deals to be had by dealers out there and if you can get the right price - it is worth it. I purchased mine at Latham Motors in Twin Falls Idaho and had it shipped to me here in Calif. Can't answer the question about the governor - I am still breaking my engine in. I am still new here but I have found EVERYONE here to be very helpful and friendly. Good luck finding your new Kat! ------------------ |

If that price is for a new 2001...it is a good price....main thing to remember in life, get what you want the first time, you will be far happier with it in the long run...I have had many Kats in many colors, but I must admit the 2001 orange has been the biggest surprise of them all....the attention it has recieved has been outstanding and ALL POSITIVE....if it has a governor of any sorts I haven't found it yet....I drive them daily and use them as a regular car, city, interstate etc....get one as soon as you can, drive it as much as you can and let the good times roll...... ------------------ |

Hi Alex- Welcome to the POA/ProwlerOnline. I think you will find everyone here much more helpful than any salesperson. The price you mentioned is an EXCELLENT price on any new 2001 model. The governor ? is still up in the air. I have a '99 Purple ( Purple Rules!!!) hehehe! Buying out of state is fine as long as you get the same or better deal than you can get locally. When it comes to the factory warranty, SHOP, SHOP or just give Lance D. a call at Quinn of Tulsa and he will make you a GREAT deal! Thanks for posting and post often! ------------------ |

Welcome to the board... not only is that an excellant price if that's a 2001 model, their cost is supposed to be $42000 or ( I forget here) $43000. Even a new 2000... that's cheap! Used is another story... usually, they can be had around 39-41 K. ------------------ |

HEY ALEX WELCOME IAM NEW TOO BUT EVERYONE IS SOO HELPFUL HERE I BELIEVE THE OUT OF STATE BUYING IS PROBABLY DONE BY MOST OF US IN CALIFORNIA SINCE THE DEALERS ASK FOR SUCH HIGH MARK UPS(THE CHEAPEST PRICE I FOUND WAS $59,600.00 ON THE ORANGE COLOR I REALLY WANTED, THIS IS NOT INCLUDING TAX AND LICENSE) I ENDED UP BUYING IT FOR $45,700 FROM NEW JERSEY AND THAT INCLUDED HAVING IT SHIPPED TO ME HERE IN CALIFORNIA(WHICH I THINK COST THE DEALER $1700 FOR THE INSURED SHIPPING) SO THE PRICE YOU ARE SAYING SOUNDS GREAT TO ME AND I WOULD JUMP ON IT GOOD LUCK BOB ------------------ |

You guys have been Great! Thanks for all the positive helpful remarks and emails. When it gets down to the nuts and bolts the $42K and change really becomes $46,000 out the door, and yes thats for the 2001 model. Thats the best price I've been able to come up with from a local dealer. I will keep you guys posted as to how the deal unfolds. I guess you could say I'm prowling from a Prowler. Alex |

Alex, You did VERY good for a 2001. That would be a Silver or Orange. If you got a Chrysler Blue for that price "Guido" will come knocking on your door. ------------------ |

Just wanted to thank everyone who encouraged me to get the Kat! Got it today!!!! One local dealer was willing to sell at the price I wanted to pay, so.... the Orange Kat is in the garage as I type. I now know why you guys love these Kats. Thanks again for your positive comments. I hope to meet all of you at a get together sometime. Sincerely, |
