Here are some pix from MLB Opening day Parade in The home of baseball, Cincinnati on Monday. Ed M., Rich J., myself and another local prowler, Lee all took part and had a great time. The crowds loved seeing the Prowlers (although some called them Viper. Thankfully I didn't hear PT) Follow the link below to the Opening Day photos. ------------------ |

Think it is too late for us So Cal'ers to try and talk Angels Baseball into letting us parade around Edison Field on their opening day April 10th?

Drive down and show them how good your Prowler looks and maybe they'll squeeze you in! ------------------ |

That's great to see. What a wonderful experience for our favorite past time. I would try to get into the Texas Rangers, but I heard unless you have $250 million they won't even look at the prowlers! hehehe ------------------ |

Looked like a great time, guys and gals! Ed - in that picture with the cops, were they giving you a wave or the Cinci salute? In the lining up pic, I noticed the Vodka sign on the building - YOU ARE the town drunk after all, hehehe. ------------------

Cliff, this was the 83rd annual Parade. 157 entries, including bands, Clydesdales, celebrities, politicians and finally PROWLERS. Larry, thanks for the compliments and plugs. It really was a lot of fun and we were definitely a hit. Richard is EYEDOC on this site. He has Borla exhaust and I have straight pipes and both were big hits. I didn't know any of those cops, but one of them asked if I was Dan Pena or John Davies or knew them. He said those two are BAD drivers, be careful around them. Looks like fun time. I like the flag holders... Did you use something fabricated & attached to receiver hitch? ------------------ |

Thanks Laddie, it sure was a lot of fun. If I had a hitch I definately would have used that, but I don't so I created my own. I built the hitch out of wood, as you can see in the picture, and attached it to the frame with a square u-bolt in the middle and a hook on the end. I have holes in 2 positions so the pole can be 45 or 90 degrees. The final edition I staggered the end part up higher on the support for better ground clearance (see little inset) and painted it black of course. I showed Lee and Ed and Lee made his own similar to mine. Ed made one out of 1/2" conduit bent into that shape. ------------------ |

Thanks, Andy. I was thinking about doing something similiar for a flag holder. Hadn't thought about the conduit pipe. I do have the hitch & planned to use some type of pipe and would bolt on to receiver (in place of ball). ------------------ |

Laddie, I used a 10 foot piece of 1/2 inch conduit. I bent it 90 degrees, as close to the end as possible, which is 5 inches. I then brought it out about 2 inches past the bumper and bent it 90 degrees again, making a U shape. I then bent it the opposite direction 90 degrees to hang the flag. The conduit cost $ 1.25. I painted it red and used duct tape to attach it to the rear frame but will probably buy a U bolt to use it in the future. It worked great and it is all one piece. The front fits into a small hole on the underside of the frame, which makes it very stable. I don't think it would hold up at hiway speeds. I used double face taped to attach the flag to the conduit. Very simple to remove and re-use. |
