Hi
Does anyone know how to get to the headligh bulbs.
I want to replace them with ultra white Xenon. I have them for the PT Cruiser and love them. What a difference. Also
does anyone know the stock bulb wattage?

Thanks

I have PIAA, 65 watts, want a difference, you need to take the top cap off of the light assembly. Not easy, let your local tech do it and remember don't ever touch the glass on the bulbs, they will burn out.

Good Luck

I upgraded my headlamps also to some APC SUPER WHITES XENON PLASMA 100 watt #9005, or PIAA equivalents and kept having one go out.

It wasn't that the bulb was burning out but that the heat had melted the socket connection and wiring harness a bit.

I changed back to stock lamps before any serious damage had occured. I haven't had any problems since.

Also please note that there are eight screws to the housing lid. Three of them are different. They are the same length but look like self tapping verse pointed sheet metal screws. They go in the three outboard tabs spaced around the outside of the housing.

I think that the housing design allows the heat to build up, and the high performance bulbs have the potential to cause serious damage.

You might inspect your wiring harness under the cover if you have had high output lamps for awhile. I had mine in for about 4,000 miles before the problem developed.

I hope this helps someone and saves possible damage.
