This writting is on behalf of the Houston Prowler owners, Ken & Donna Rodgers, Ray & Gayle Bartels, Dave and Janet Foshee, Don Ward & Daphne, that went with my wife and I up to the Friday/Saturday portion of the POA's Speed Weekend Event. First of all we Thank the POA for the invitation and we would like to thank Mike K. for making the track available for this event. It was awesome to see all those cars in one spot. There was every modification to a Prowler known to man there. I'd also like to thank PaulR, DavidN, GaryC and the others for all their hard work to make this come off as well as it did while we were part of it. We all had to break off and head home Saturday morning. A big thanks to Pauley for the great cruise course he laid out that took us along the river and through the mountains, 15 rolling Prowlers and 3 on trailers. Also for the excellent Texas Bar-B-Q lunch he arranged for. We saw some beautiful countryside with quite a bit of wild life. We even saw some sheep on the cruise but PaulR managed to keep GaryC in the truck until we passed them. GaryC you've got a great sense of humor for sure. Good weather, good food, good people and Great cars, that is all you could ask for. While on the cruise, I thought I'd let everyone listen, over the walkie-Talkie's, to an Arron Tippin song called "Big Boys Toys", it just seemed appropriate at the time.
My wife took about 56 pictures as well as some video which I will be posting on http://www.LordOfTheLooks.com and your welcome to drop in and view them. The other Houston folks also will be sending me their pictures as well. I must relate a bit of a scare I had on my first run there. I was about the 4th or so car to run and selected the left lane. I rolled through the water and heated up the tires and then pulled to the staging lights. The tree went down and I nailed it! At the 60 ft mark I noticed I was not really biting in and about half way down the cab started to fill with smoke, so much smoke that I had to open the windows to see. I backed off and checked the gauges and all was fine so I got back in it. Jay (Shimmers) was taking pictures alongside the track and said the right rear wheel never hooked up and smoked over 2/3rd's of the strip??? My car may be quicker than the average bear but not enough to burn rubber the whole track! I stopped on the off ramp and pounded the top of my head as to get my heart back down where it should be..... Turned out that they had put a track dressing on that area and I managed to get in it while fresh.. The right rear wheel, fender and bumper is covered with melted tar type material and that was what smoked.... After checking everything I then made my fastest run of 12.9254. I won't go into what went through my mind when I spotted the smoke.... Thanks for taking the time to read this long message but it takes this much to express what a great time we had. And to think it isn't over yet! ------------------ |

Fred- You were absolutely right. What a GREAT event and excellent times were had by all. Several people were saying how you were the SLEEPER in the group... WOW what a great group from Houston. I glad all was well after the scare, but after I cleaned up my car at the TMS, I had spent rubber all over the insides of my bumpers. Thaks to all that attended and lets do it again! ------------------ |

Fred, nice to see you again and we enjoyed meeting all the other fine folks from Houston & cruising with yall Friday morning to RCR ... I also have to agree with you on all the conceivable mods on these Prowlers. It's not just performance stuff. Paint, interior, exterior, sound, trailer graphics... Seeing all the custom mods & stuff is 2nd best reason for getting all the Prowler guys & gals together at an event. The 1st is meeting all you fine folks and sharing in the excitment of the coolest car on the road ...
