I have been told there is a company from England making a car that looks extremely similar to the Prowler, except it is extremely fast, 3.7 0-60. Supposedly out now 6 months. Does anyone have any information on this?

Panoz Roadster? It has minor similarities.
Pick up a copy of the DuPont Registry magazine. They can be found throughout the magazine.
They are fast, and really, not too expensive.

Someone told me a place in North Richland Hills, Fort Worth makes a Prowler copy with a V8. Have not gone to check it out yet.

Wonder if they are referring to the Lotus Elise? I believe you can buy it in the US, but for track use only.

Kinda cute in a way... Looks like an early MG and kit car hybred really. Doesn't come close to the lines of the Prowler though in my opinion.

Panoz is hand built exclusively here in Georgia. I know a guy who both works at Panoz and owns one. The car is a Rocket, but not a Cruiser. Seats are thinly padded and he says he can't stand to drive it for more than a couple hours at a stretch, and he is a young guy in late 20's early 30's. It is Ford powered. I hear it rides stiffer than the Prowler as well. I don't know if my 55 year old body could take the ride. Oh yeah, It also performs better than a Prowler in the slalom. The average price was around $65,000 the last time I looked. They now make a supercharged version. Yearly production is much much much lower than Prowler. If your ever in Georgia you can tour the Panoz plant. Also they have no windows and you have to assemble the top. The top frame and the fabric are stored seperately in the trunk.

Sounds to me like a lot more points of why we own Prowlers to me. Ride quality is a definite must to me. Speed is nice, but not at the point your hating life to get it. Besides, the main reason I personally have the Prowler is looks, and personally the Prowler looks far better. Not to mention a short time ago our Prowler's were 65 K cars and still are in some places.

I gotta be the only nut in here who has owned both panoz and a prowler.
TWO DIFFERENT CARS! When I had the panoz I was always looking for a prowler to chew up and spit out. Never saw one. Advise if you run across a Panoz get out of the way. I had the supercharged limited edition that had 385HP on a car that was about 2200 lbs. Fastest car I have ever driven.
But alas a margin call forced me to down size my auto hobby and the Panoz left the stable and was replaced by a 2001 orange. Nice car but not a sports car. Just a cool looking cruiser that does have modern amenities such as power windows, roof, etc.
When I had the panoz everybody always asked,'Is that a Prowler". Used to really piss me off. No one ever asks me if the Prowler is a Panoz!

That is probably because there are far fewer Panoz then Prowlers around. I live in a large city and see about 2-3 Prowlers (on average a day).

If I'm lucky, I see one Panoz AIV about once every 6-7 months.

FYI- It's called an AIV (Aluminum Intensive Vehicle) for those that didn't know

Trey - does that mean that Prowlers are AIV?

One night last summer at the Scottsdale Pavillions auto show, a guy parks his Panoz near six or seven Prowlers there. After 45 minutes of very FEW lookers, he starts it up and drives away - haven't seen him back there since.

The Prowler has smoother lines and is more practical (hard to believe the prowler is more practicle then another car) then the Panoz hands down. Besides, Panoz's have Ford engines in them!

A little secret from my Friend in the Industry. Panoz is working on a new car .... so stay tuned.

There is NOTHING out there quite like the Prowler. Besides the Prowler owners are the Best.
