remove me from your board www.prowleronline.com/ubb/forum1/HTML/001952.html this is why, its not the money just when I take out the time to do it and someone has to email someone telling them hey dealer b has it for 50.00 cheaper, I am sorry for this and I talked to gary on the phone, " (gary thanks for trying to help gary did nothing) his suggestion was lower the price" I feel that 150 over cost is a excellent price and my honesty and integrity like paul said would be compromised if I changed my price. The way I do business is , the people that do business with me , I do business with. And my dealer is no different. The 150 over cost special was simply like larry posted. In my dealers eyes if I do alot of business with the board he doesn't have a problem with selling a prowler for a good deal. If someone has a better deal don't sneak around and email them post it, have some guts. This message has been edited by Lance.d on 02-22-2001 at 04:30 PM |

Lance hang in there! I am one that can appreciate what you have done for us, you have been a straight shooter and a bottom line salesman. I think that if someone has to go to another dealer to save $50.00 you probably wouldn't want to deal with them anyway, Keep us posted on the Prowler inventory and some day when I need an extended warranty I'll call you last.

Lance ... The thing about America, love it or hate it, it's free enterprise. You did what you had to do with pricing extended warranties, which was still better than the dealership I plopped down $5k over sticker for back in '98 for my yellow Kat would have done for me, but there is a guy ot there that is cheaper than you (Thanks again, Laddie!). Either you match price and give people a choice or you ... well ... leave I guess. Sorry you chose the latter, I have enjoyed your contributions. ------------------ |

Hey Quicksilver, you support him, call those of us that would save $50 bucks 'cheap' and 'not worth doing busines with' and then you're gonna call this poor guy LAST ?!? I mean, really, what the heck? Call him FIRST or don't call him at all I would think ... you send a mixed message. Sorry ... my 2 cents. ------------------ |

I would hate to be a dealer. Naturally, if you post ANY price, some dealer will be able to beat it by $2. What a crappy rachet. The guy that typically trys to beat it probably doesn't do any advertising (a cost) or any promotional stuff for it's clients (a cost) but, will save you $2 when you start to shop around. I want to get a good price like the next guy but, at what price? $50 in the grand scheme of things is nothing. Your better off without them Lance. Hey, if you ever sell Porsche's, let me know. (o.k. no flames please).... Take care. ------------------ Mods: 2001 Speed Yellow Porsche Cabriolet |

Lance, guess I would say to not take it personnally! You stepped up with an attractive deal and I am sure that several took advantage! More importantly you lowered the bar and most importantly it opened up a meaningful dialogue that served members well! As a result a number of Prowler owners were able to secure an extended warranty without getting ripped off. ------------------ |

Ray, the salesman that gets the last call gets the deal. I didn't call you cheap. The way I look at it is Lance has GIVEN a lot of great information out to us which I think is worth 50.00 bucks. I have been in 100% commission sales all my life and really feel what Lance is going through.

Thanks David. Read it, and it's a dam shame. Whats the point of going back to the guy and saying "I can get it for $50.00 less". You know his price in advance, he has told us what they will make. Don't want to buy it say thank you and move on. I'm thankful I was able to purchase mine from Lance a few weeks ago. He was helpful and a pleasure to speak with. Lance I am sorry that who ever you spoke with did not handle themselves very professionally. I am thankful for your service. ------------------ |

Lance, Remember, you can't please all of the people all of the time only some of the people some of the time.....I have my own business and I always remind myself that 75% of something is better than 100% of nothing. I hope you would reconsider and continue to enlighten us with your opinions. |

Lance, I sold retail too, and gave away a lot of free info as well as helping people do repairs. What got me was that most of them would go to the guy next door if he sold the same thing for a nickle less. I could take a hour showing them how to do a repair using my tools and supplies, but when it came time to buy, all was forgotten and some would try to cut me down to mail order prices. I finally said screw it and gave up the business. It was more a labor of love anyway. Your input is appreciated. I've given your name to people looking for Prowlers at reasonable prices. I had at one time asked you about a warranty for my Prowler, but didn't follow through as I'm about to do work that will probably void it anyway. Hang tight, we appreciate your input-at least I do----AL ------------------ |

Where's the beef? There's so much more than price involved. I do not have unlimited funds but have always lived by the golden rule. Today I went to pick up some parts for the car that I was having powdercoated and after paying, the owner said he forgot to charge me for first stripping the parts,(45.00), but not to worry about it. At first I thought great, I saved 45.00. But then I noticed a spot that was not covered properly and after pointing it out to him he said leave it and he would recoat it. I would have demanded it if he had not offered it, but told him I would gladly pay the 45.00 when I picked up the part. If I ever do business with him again hopefully he'll remember this and maybe give me a better deal or better service. If not that's okay because I'll sleep better. What goes around comes around. Lance, your input has been much to valuable to pull it on one bad experiance, but we all must do what we must do. ------------------ This message has been edited by Marc/Colo/99 on 02-22-2001 at 09:11 PM |
