I've judiciously read the site for months and am constantly reminded about how everyone seems to get lots of "Ooooh's" and "Aaahs" and thumbs up about their Prowlers. So what's my problem? Maybe I'm blind to the responses or is it just my location, or does anyone else get a much more nonchalant response the Prowler? The 10-18 year olds love it but not much more from the "old folks". Comments? ------------------ |

I can't believe you don't get any responses, The older crowd out here are the ones that go wild over the Prowler. Go for a drive tomorrow with the Top Down and look around. If someone doesn't take a photo at least once a month, I think something is wrong. |

Has to be your location. Went for a drive along the coast yesterday with the top down of course. Started getting thumbs up about three blocks from the house. Lots of waves from females in other cars...and I even had my wife with me. On the way back I passed three state troopers talking to each other on the side of the road...three thumbs up from them too! |

Maybe no hot rod roots in Wisconsin. After the drive tomorrow with the top down-go straight to the hospital for frost bite treatment. ------------------ |

Just a matter of who you meet on the road too... I get all kinds of stares from young kids and males... but VERY few women and I'm in LA. I also notice totally different reactions from different parts of LA. ------------------ |

Paul - That over supply of beer makers and drinkers, is not condusive to Prowler admirers. I also understand that dairy products do that to people? If I had a quarter for every LOOK and SMILE, I'd be able to buy Mike K's collection! ------------------ |

Paul, Never had that problem, I get waves and thumbs ups from people 5 to 80 yrs. old. I have to slow down sometimes to let them take pictures and video! Last week I was on the interstate with a $250,000.00 Ferrari Modena, but all the eyes were on my Kat. How many Prowlers are there in your area, maybe it's overexposure. |

Paul, in Wisconsin you'd get more reaction from a $45,000 Dodge 4 door ram, 4x4, v10 diesel with 6 high intensity overhead lights, 12,000 lb. front end winch, chrome brush guard, running board auxilary lights, shotgun rack, front and rear hooks for helicopter air lift, retractable on/off ramps for a snowmobile, Yosemite Sam mud flaps, live well for fish, and a Green Bay Packers flag attached to the antena. If you could attach a small crane to the cargo area you'd probably be elected Governor. I'm sure your Cat would get lots of ooooo's and ahhhhhh's if you cruised around the tourist district on Lake Geneva. But Im still shocked the great people of Wisconsin don't oooooo and ahhhhh over your Cat. ------------------ |

Different interestes for different cultures... each area of each state has a vastly different culture. There are places in LA, I certainly get stared at, but I would not call them positive stares... and I mean the car, not me ------------------ |

I FIND I GET A REACTION FROM THE "OLDER CROWD" IT'S JUST DIFFERENT A LITTLE MORE SEDATE.I USUALLY GET SMILES AND WAVES FROM THE OLDER PEOPLE. INSTEAD THE NEAR HYSTERICS THE KIDS GIVE.ONE TIME I HAD A BUNCH OF KIDS EARLY TEENS I GUESS RUN OUT IN FRONT OF THE CAR TO STOP ME SO THEY COULD GET A BETTER LOOK BOB |

I have had people go out of their way to follow me just to get a look. People have jumped out thier cars at traffic lights. The reponses come from old and young . I pulled to a fast food chain one night that was full of teenagers and the place emptied out in about a second to come look. Rich Ware ------------------ |

NightProwler's probably right on the money. Yeah, a jacked up 4x4 is what 'da Wizgonzites iz lookin' for, hey. Not that nobody looks but I think we need to import some more car fans so I can boast about how they love the Prowler. Oh, yes, my wife just walked in and reprimanded me for not noticing when everybody looks at the car. She says, (and she's probably right) that I don't look around much when I drive. Too much concentration on the job at hand, I guess. ------------------ |

Have you thought of painting her holstein brown, or maybe with a nice cow spot pattern, maybe horns on the hood? That away if people don't love it the cows will. |

My question would be, did you buy it for others to notice or for your enjoyment? I liked the stares but frankly I bought it for me and somedays not alot of people would notice it. Other days they would swamp me. ------------------ Mods: 2001 Speed Yellow Porsche Cabriolet |

Paul... You would think that here in the Detroit area...auto city, that people would have a ho hum attitude towards the Prowler. But surprisingly enough, you don't see that many of them on the road here and I always have gotten reactions from people. You'd be shocked at how many people in this area have never seen one up close. I have always gotten thumbs up, hoots, hollers, what is it questions, who makes it, and lots and lots of smiles and waves..... I love to see people smiling and enjoying the car, but I'm the one with the biggest smile on my face!!!! |

Yes, folks, perhaps I'm not watching those who do a double take. You know there's a little humility, too, in driving a noticeable beast like the Prowler is. Perhaps it comes from not wanting to seem too uppity. This Prowler's one uppity ride, isn't it? Secretly I'm sniggling that I'm the only guy in this little town with one. Oh, sure, there's a guy with a Viper, too. But that doesn't count, 'cause we don't cross paths. (You betcha he'd blow my doors off.) ------------------ This message has been edited by Paul on 01-18-2001 at 10:53 PM |
