Based on the discussion of the topic regarding the name change on the Prowler....... When people ask you what kind of car you are driving, do you actually call it a "Plymouth Prowler" or do you say "Prowler"? 99%of the time, I would say Plymouth Prowler rather than just Prowler. |

I've been asked if it's a BMW,PORSCHE or JAGUAR. I tell them it's a PLYMOUTH PROWLER, and sometimes they don't know about Plymouth, so I tell them it's a division of the Chrysler corporation. |

Since many people, especially the elderly, are somewhat confused by the car in the first place I always tell them it is a "new 2000 Plymouth Prowler"......some of the older people think it is an antique car that has been restored or brought back to life...I will never forget the look in one older ladies eyes, she looked at the Prowler not really understanding what I had told her...then her eyes teared up and she told me she sure had lots of good times in a car like mine....I think she was off by about 60 years but I just smiled and told her I was having lots of fun in it now......Sometimes I just tell people it is a "new Plymouth"....that certainly evokes some strange responses too....just lots of fun....many people think they are kit cars, homebuilt etc....when they find out Chrysler is making these TODAY, they really get excited...really old people seem especially attracted to these cars for the obvious reason, their past is brought to life again...I honestly think some of the elderly people have enjoyed the rides even more than the kids....they are 20 years old again, even if only for a little while....I have always enjoyed giving rides in special cars to people and will let nearly anyone drive them(except the Vipers-too dangerous for many)...gives them memories for a life time.... ------------------ |

When asked, which is all the time, I always answer "Plymouth" and usually after a few seconds of puzzled looks, they generally repeat "Plymouth... I've never seen one like that... what year is it?" I answer "it is a 2000 Prowler" and that seems to satisfy their curiosity. Of course there are always additional questions that I am always glad to answer. The kids all know what it is and no matter where you are, they always voice their approval. Our family just affectionally calls it the "Yeller Cat" and we enjoy every minute of it. ADVERTISING PLUG... since adding Yellow SHIMMERS to the rear bumper, more people just say "nice Prowler... wish it was mine". Sincerely, Jay ------------------ |

Plymouth Prowler, for the same reason as Davidn. Ray, nice plug. WildCat, I get that too. Sometimes, after saying it's a Plymouth, they STILL ask if it's a foreign car. I'm guessing 5 years from now, NO ONE will know what a Plymouth is. Lastly, I call my Kat "my baby". She likes that. ------------------ |

Kids in the area call it "Bling Bling" because of the way it shines! Sometimes I call it "Bling Bling", "Purple Cat", "my kids", or just "Plymouth Prowler", and yes it is a Plymouth. ------------------ |
