Call me a crazy but why would anyone want to own 2 or 3 or 4 of the same car but in different colors? At 40-45K each? (And don't say because I can.) Am I missing something here? It seems a lot of members own more than 1 Kat. I have owned many exotics and have Never owned 2 of the same exact models. I have a 2001 orange and there is no way I could even imagine owning another one. I would spring for a cobra replica, panoz, lotus esprit, 512 tr, etc. Just my thoughts. Hal-nothing against the owners of more then one Cat, but I tend to agree with you. With the apparent value sinking, those that bought for investment might have to wait a while for an even modest return. I thought I got a good deal for my yellow 2k at 44k and see that I could have had an 01 for the same price 4 months later. At least I have a yellow which is the color of my choice. Its a cool car and every drive brings a smile to my face. ------------------ |

Buthcee, I doubt anyone thinks that prowlers are investments anymore with the prices dropping even as I type this. Still is a lot of fun owning it though! Congrats on the hardtop. Sure could use it here in philly! |

hal, I have two prowlers and if I was not married I would have one more. I have a black 2000 that I paid under MSRP. it has lots of after market mods . I drive it to all events(woodward,gc,etc). I also have # 80 woodward which I paid MSRP. the ww is stock and I will not do any mods. as you may know it is a limited car with two-tone paint looks great going down the road.i would have the black-tie for the same reason as ww it is limited .I drive and enjoy both cars. if I feel like to drive the black one day and the next day I may feel like the woodward. what a country!!!! good to have choices BTW if they go up in value great if not great I have had a great time driving them ------------------ davidn |

Very interesting subject. I've had multiple cars many times....Do you believe that people who can afford these cars are stupid believeing that they might go up in value...Not to many stupid people become successful...Now the reality, at last for me and the seven cars sitting in my drive way. I am obsesive and compulisve, ( don't drink or drug)...Always had a thing for cars. Haven't worked in 30 years....Love my job and never considered it work...Didn't grow up with money...the old man works for me...I love the idea that if I'm bored for a couple of hours that I can go buy another car and have fun. Make or loose money...doesn't matter it gives me a little joy....Don't try and figure it out...enjoy your one cat...Kind of envy you that one car does it for you...NOT FOR ME.... ------------------ |

People vary in what they like and enjoy... many of my friends collect many types of items, most of them want one of each type in their collection, for whatever reason, when I collect, I enjoy having more then one of the same thing. My reasoning is if one is down in some fashion, I have a spare to enjoy. In regards to the Prowler, regardless of cost, today, there is not another car I would personally want to drive, anywhere, for any price. I would have instead just bought more antique motocycles if not my 3 Prowler's. ------------------ |

Hal, my husband gave me my 99 Black cat as an anniversary gift. He prefers that I keep it stock. I don't disagree, but I would love to have another one to be able to modify and play around with. We don't consider my cat an investment, as I would never sell it. Have too much fun with it! ------------------ |

Cars are like underwear if you use them or wear them all the time they will get crappy or wear out faster. JOMO ------------------ |

I guess what I was trying to get at was what makes a Prowler owner different from other auto owners/collectors. I know alot of car guys and they are into different marques and not one owns the same exact model just in different colors. Perhaps there are more ferrari's, jaguars, corvettes etc. to choose from? When you drive a yellow kat does it feel or drive different than a red one or a bow tie? Oh and most importantly you multiple Kat owners, how do you convince your other half that you needed another one! Let me in on that secret! |

Hal.....regarding convincing the spouse... My hubby is a very special guy. He has had numerous cars over our 33 years of marriage. My interest in cars grew because of his involvement (he's been in the car business all his life) and I learned to appreciate, enjoy and love them as much as he does. The Prowler was the only one that I said I really wanted. So he got me one. I told him that if he got another one, then he would be able to drive one too (he never drives my car - he said he got it for me and it was mine to have fun with)!! ------------------ This message has been edited by CJ on 01-06-2001 at 08:54 AM |

My wife knows better then to comment on my car purchases...many of her friends are divorced...If she needs to find me she looks in the garage. I did create a monster with her and her cars...She was never into cars and never cared to much about what she drove...Ahh... the good old days...It's easier to get a car out of me then jewelery. ------------------ |
