Was reading thru a Hot Rod magazine and saw an ad for Hotlights. These are little flashing red lights that screw onto your valve stems (tires) and light up.

They are battery powered, and must be turned on or off. I imagine they will really scream "Check Me Out" when you are in the prowler.

The set of 4 is $14.95

Has anyone gotten and tried these yet?

Try www.britewheels.com
I have them but have not tried them. They are powered by two small button batteries like those cheap laser pointers use. They may last long enough to arrive and depart a couple of evening cruise-ins (assuming you stop a block before and after to turn them on/off). Your price is better than mine, but I think the site above is the mfg. Richard

Good website...thanks for the info.

I may order, just to have something relatively different.

A friend had them on his flame thrower `64 F-100.

I tried to find out where to get them.

They do look cool

might have to have a set. I would think they would last a long time as long as you didn't leave on hours on end. The LED light draws very little power

Thanks for the info

I saw those at the local pep boys for $10 each. I thought they might get the tire out of balance? Any thoughts on that?

I'm thinking these lights are very lightweight, so weight causing a wheel & tire balance would not be a problem.

I did not order a set yet, so I do not know first-hand.

Think the other way, they might put them in closer balance.

I don't know who balances the tires before the factory installs them but.......My wheels had about 4 lbs total.....so we sent that amount of weights with the wheels to be chromed. I still have over 1/2 of it left that I had chromed......So in my opinion these lightweight cool looking caps would not be a problem. I do think I will order some but will use my LOGO CAPS most of the time......and install these for cruising at local nights out.

Todd is right - they are avaiable at Pep Boys Auto Parts Stores - sell for $10 each. Come in clear and colors. I was told by one of our Az owners who has them, that his has no on/off switch, but are activated to light in the dark and off during the day??? I've seen them on his cat, but not while driving - he says they are neat.

OK guys, went and got the last two at Pep Boys (clear). They sold out the whole display in two days - must be HOT!

Made by Golden Apple Co. 3532 Arden Road, Hayward (Ca.)? 94545 no state listed. Phone# 510-780-9800 or 780-9899

Are smaller and neater looking than the other brand - polished alum. base, no on/off turning, are automatically activated when driving in dark environment, won't light up in bright enviornment or static status, and model # is 03-3903W. Called MaxSpeed Glowing Jet Caps. Will try them out and report back later.

John - on back of package under feature, #3, says: It won't light up in bright environment or static status (sitting still).

Took the clear one into a very dark room, spun around, and it omits a whitish/blue light - kool. Didn't work in a semi-dark room - good, tells me they work as stated.

Those would be good,

but they look cool flashing when sitting still at cruise in at night. There is one that does have way to turn off and on and will flash when sitting still.

OhioSilverCat,

I just called the people on the link you provided us and they were not happy with them and will no longer carry them when their stock depletes.

The salesmen talked me out of them.

They tried them and didn't like them.

Just thought I should post this.

Thanks OSC

Went to PepBoys in Cincinnati today and they are 14.95 per one light (59.80 a set) . I have seen a similiar light before and they were not very bright and I did't get them. Someone who has a set please report back!
